I went through a hundred videos on You Tube today, some were comedy oriented (like Jim Carey), a lot of fishing stuff and of course Gators.

The most telling video I watched was the comparison of Mac arriving in Gainesville for the first time as our new HC & one was of DM arriving as the new HC. What a difference!!!

It wasn't just the Gator Chomp as he debarked from the plane as much as his hand shakes with everyone there to greet him and his real enthusiastic demeanor walking into the athletic dept.

Mac appeared to be waiting on a cab when he arrived at the athletic offices. It is stark contrast indeed. Maybe DM will fall down....but it wont be because of lack of energy....I'm really starting to believe the opposite, he will succeed and we are on our way to fighting for hardware.

Is it Sept yet?

Again, he wasn't my first choice but he has done everything right since getting the job and he is truly happy to be a Gator. Now it is our job as fans to give him a chance to build a program. If we can come right out the gate with some wins and improved play on offense and at QB, it will go a long way in winning over the doubters. Go Gators!

Mullen has the energy and the ''lead by example'' kind of drive we need for the team. We have a ton of starters coming back and almost the entire team is ready to rebrand their image. I think the biggest difference between Dan Mullen and even like a guy like Chip Kelly is that Mullen loves being at Florida, he loves the resources provided to him and obviously it's where he won his championships.

Mullen also doesn't stop talking about winning the big game, and is consistently reminding the players of it as well. It feels like the guys believe in themselves, and moreover it feels like they're finally motivated.

Outside of Seider....I can't complain about anything. Thought he did a great job with his first class, got two stud transfers, and has put together a very experienced and competent staff. Really excited to see what happens.

The only thing I didn't like was the charade of Stricklin with full knowledge he really wanted Mullen from the getgo
and tried to divert that desire by smokescreen of Kelly.

Kelly was never coming to UF. Stricklin never intended to hire him and he wasn't offered the job.

But I have put aside and on the DM train....Stricken had been around Dan for a while and knew that he would be a great fit.

So I am now more than ok with the hire and believe his energy level will get us where we want to be.....soon. I just hope he doesn't get burned out with fanatical fan base we have. Its like that at every SEC school...except maybe Vandy. Lose one game and they want to get the pitchforks and torches out in typical kneejerk reactions.

I think we can have a very good season in 2018....we just have to let it unfold.

Sometimes we don't want the easy choice. Mullen should have been the pick one of the previous two cycles but we kept taking unnecessary risks with the hires.

i don't think strokelin was gonna hire dan until the smoke started with the tenn opening. could be wrong, but i think that's the window that was needed.

I really liked Muschamp. He came into a situation where the locker room was a total mess left by Urbs. He inherited a soft team in 2011...recruited well...in 2012 he had the defense playing tough as nails and we got as high as # 2 in the BCS rankings before losing to the dawgs.

Booms problems were all about the offense and lack thereof. In 2013 we were completely destroyed by injuries and then our starting QB was injured in the 4th game with broken leg and at years end we were starting Skyler Morningwheg or what ever his name was. 2014 was the death knell...we just shite the bed except for the UGA game.

Mac was out of left field. I supported him because he was our coach...as I have supported all of them. Watching the video clips of Mac vs Mullen on their first arrivals in Gainesville was jaw dropping. It was a totally day/night difference and that's why I'm hoping the results will be day/night. Mac did some good things and we did have some really good games, but not nearly enough and the energy level was missing.

Kelly was offered the job. Kelly was going to accept but UCLA pulled the trigger on Mora. Kelly liked the UCLA job more. UCLA were more likely to let Chip run the show how he wanted.

None of that is true. He was offered the job. UF did want him. UF had a contract made for him. Kelly agreed to terms then recanted because UCLA immediately fired their coach and went after him that weekend after UF flew the PRESIDENT to meet him.

Sorry..but UF isn't flying the President undercover to meet Kelly with no intent to hire..that makes no sense.

This. I liked the Muschamp hire. I still like the guy overall. I absolutely hate Mac. Hated the hire, hated his first staff, and hated his attitude. Just never grew on me so seeing him gone was a happy day.

If the UCLA job hadn't opened up we would have Chip Kelly at Florida and that's just the bottom line. I think Mullen is a better hire because I think he'll be at Florida for a long time, but Kelly would have been pretty terrifying at Florida.

While I was never crazy about Muschamp, I didn't have an issue taking a risk on him at that point. Mac on the other hand never made sense to me, huge swing and miss.

We should have hired Spurrier back when we hired Muschamp. Muschamp was a risk from the start with no head coaching experience. HBC would have stopped the slide even if he only coached for 4-5 years at UF. I still believe we could have gotten this done if we had tried hard enough. On paper, Mcelwain was a safer hire than Chump, but again should have gone hard after Spurrier to come home and end his career as a Gator.

IMO Kelly wouldn't have lasted 3 yrs at UF. He HATES the college recruiting scene. He would have never felt comfortable with our rabid fan base.

I am 100% in agreement with you on this. Mullen was his #1 target all along.

I don’t agree with the last part. I think Stricklin offered Kelly a contract, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it was such a low ball offer with a lot of clauses that everyone in the room knew Kelly would never accept it. And so, everyone could part gracefully and Scott could go after Dan without reprisal from the fan base that he didn’t pursue the best talent on the market first.

Kelly has repeatedly said he wasn't offered the job. I guess he is lying? It was an attempt as pointed out..to convey a "real" search while the real target was Mullen.

At this point I don't care...I think DM is 10 X the better choice of most candidates because he truly 1) wanted the job 2) has experience at UF 3) has the energy and will instill enthusiasm at UF again.

Right now he is undefeated and the honeymoon is in full swing...lets hope it doesn't wear off.

I myself would have loved Petrino as HC because he would have flipped the offense around el pronto, but he just had too much baggage for UF, so its understandable why he isn't at a high profile school. He screwed himself good.
