If they have as much authority as the faculty senate here, that means nothing except for their feels. Not sure what authority they may have at UF though.

I think that’s who I meant. The faculty senate.

Time for the sky screaming melt! Not that I am a big Sasse fan but he is a move in the RIGHT direction.

Politics aside this would be like hiring a high school football coach to be the next head coach at Florida. Just so little practical experience at the major aau r1 university level. His learning curve is going to be insane. I genuinely hope he is up for it.

University of Florida presidential hopeful Sen. Ben Sasse called LSU 'trash' during interview

quote:

"I should confess that it is true that in 1981, as a 9-year-old, I did regularly decree that the SEC was 'trash,'" Sasse told the board of trustees, according to the Tampa Bay Times. "That was wrong. If I could get the freedom to revise and extend my remarks, I should have said that Georgia, Alabama and LSU were trash."

If he does nothing except end the "woke" culture at UF, he will be a success. He may have to crack some eggs to make an omelet, if you know what I mean. Go Gators.

Most of these guys (University Presidents) are idiots. He is great at working the power channels in DC, so I am betting he will be great at fundraising for UF. It is funny how he is loathed by the lefties and the righties, only the RINO's like him.

But I think he is the very best conservatives could have gotten. He is personable, so the libbies will warm up to him, the progs never will. I think he will be good for UF. He should at least keep us from becoming Mizzou.
