How do the Gators do against spread teams, especially qbs that can run if they start Plumly.

Matt Corral is the starter (according to multiple sources), however, we've been prepping for both.

"Grantham’s 3-4 scheme has held up extremely well against mobile quarterbacks in his 3 years with Mullen. One wrinkle that undoubtedly helps? Grantham’s defense, instead of having all 3 down linemen tasked to read multiple gaps, only asks the nose tackle to do that. That frees up the other down linemen to do other jobs — like contain the edge or get downhill after the passer. While those linemen do that, Grantham uses a strong-side linebacker or a hybrid linebacker/safety type as a fourth player near the line of scrimmage, depending on the opponent’s strength. This is particularly useful in playing contain against mobile quarterbacks, and that defensive versatility, a strength of Grantham’s system, becomes especially valuable when facing challenges like Plumlee."

Four defenders: Moon, Stewart, Campbell, and Wingo are not expected to play today (they are not warming up right now).
Expected to be COVID casualties.

Did we practice tackling at all. And as I typed that we finally got a tfl

Looked like a clean hit with the shoulder there

I feel like we're going to see a lot of this in week one. There was no spring ball, so tackling is going to be a little less impactful.
And we got a targeting, so this should be a fun game.

First drive, first touchdown of the season.
Trask looks sharp, there were two drops by receivers (had both hands on the ball but didn't secure it). That will have to improve.
Running looks marginally better, last year we couldn't move the ball until the 3rd quarter and later.

I thought that was a clean hit. We might have a damned oline this year.

Good thing we cut bait with Corral. He can’t handle pressure.

Grantham has lost his balls

You know, Grantham is known for bringing the house on 3rd down and getting burned for it.
I wish he'd fricking do it at Florida. Every year he rushes three guys, plays prevent and we get fricked.
Grantham, live up to your name, blitz them on third and long, we have the DBs to cover man-to-man.

Yeah, the rotation with Jones may need to end.

Mullen loses me when he does cute shite like this. Maybe this interception will get this shite out of his system and just let Trask play the fricking entire game.

Great fricking play and effort

Whoever that dude is that chased Toney down is going to the NFL.

Trask needs to play every down of the game, man. He's just too goddamn good.
