Yeah our OL being average hasn’t helped on offense. Unpredictable week to week. Goodwin leaving really hurt. Hoping we can reel in one or two more HS kids and some portal guys.

Per On3, does not seem like we will be holding on to Nasir or Amaris. I could deal with losing one of those 2 after getting McCray, but both would be bad news.

https://www.on3.com/teams/florida-gators/news/projecting-the-strength-of-each-gators-defensive-commitment/
quote:

5-star S Xavier Filsaime

On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 2 safety | No. 30 prospect overall | No. 7 senior in Texas

GO Commitment Percentage: 95%

Recruiting Intel: Filsame is in that same group as Lagway. He loves being a part of the Gators’ class and continues to vocal regarding his commitment, especially after UF losses. Additional visits, however, are taking place and that is always somewhat concerning. USC welcomed him to Los Angeles this past weekend, while the in-state Longhorns are hovering around as well. Thankfully for the Gators, there is more confidence in Filsaime staying put than heading elsewhere. I’m sure there will be plenty of chatter down the stretch though.

5-star DL LJ McCray

On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 5 defensive lineman | No. 25 prospect overall | No. 6 senior in Florida

GO Commitment Percentage: 100%

Recruiting Intel: McCray just made his commitment a few weeks back and returned to Gainesville for the Arkansas game. He is also playing a major role in recruiting his teammate, 4-star defensive back Zay Mincey. I have not heard of any potential visits down the stretch, but we are keeping close tabs as always, especially when in-home visits start. I have not come across any recruiting drama though.

On300 CB Wardell Mack

On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 13 cornerback | No. 105 prospect overall | No. 4 senior in Louisiana

GO Commitment Percentage: 80%

Recruiting Intel: Mack returned to the Swamp in September and was blown away by the atmosphere inside the Swamp and throughout campus. He then said he’s locked in with the Gators; however, Florida State, Texas and LSU are still in the picture down the stretch. The SemiScared Indians are actually getting Mack on campus this weekend. There is some optimism with the Tigers and Longhorns as well, so this recruitment could ultimately go in several directions.

On300 LB Aaron Chiles

On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 9 linebacker | No. 118 prospect overall | No. 1 senior in Maryland

GO Commitment Percentage: 100%

Recruiting Intel: Chiles, another Under Armour All-American commit, has been fairly quiet since announcing his commitment to the Gators in June. And to our knowledge, he hasn’t visit other programs either. He nearly committed during his first visit last summer and has said he is locked in with Florida. I haven’t heard of anything changing.

On300 LB Myles Graham

On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 5 linebacker | No. 57 prospect overall | No. 9 senior in Florida

GO Commitment Percentage: 99%

Recruiting Intel: There has been chatter regarding Graham and his commitment. Another source said there has been communication with other programs, but this is a legacy recruit who relocated to Gainesville for his senior year. Unless Billy Napier is not head coach, I have a difficult time seeing Graham not in this class. We are keeping tabs though.

On300 DL Nasir Johnson

On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 21 defensive lineman | No. 171 prospect overall | No. 24 senior in Georgia

GO Commitment Percentage: 70%

Recruiting Intel: Johnson is fresh off a trip to Colorado and the Buffaloes definitely impressed, but Georgia and Forfeit State University are considered bigger threats to UF. As for the overall status of his recruitment, I am labeling Johnson as a soft commit. He continues to tell me his commitment is rock solid, but intel suggests otherwise. This is one of the Gators commits we are monitoring the most.

On300 LB Adarius Hayes

On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 6 linebacker | No. 56 prospect overall | No. 9 senior in Florida

GO Commitment Percentage: 90%

Recruiting Intel: It’s difficult envisioning something changing here, but Hayes is taking visits and was at Alabama over the weekend. Miami, however, could be the Gators’ top competition after receiving an in-season visit as well. Hayes says he is making business trips and taking advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime experience, but his recruitment is still worth monitoring, especially as UF struggles on the field.

Nick Brooks discusses decommitment
4-star DL Amaris Williams

On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 19 defensive lineman | No. 161 prospect overall | No. 2 senior in North Carolina

GO Commitment Percentage: 70%

Recruiting Intel: One thing is for certain: Williams is strongly considering the recent offer from Ohio State. Another school to monitor here is Tennessee, as both programs are prioritizing Williams daily. Also, the Gators suffered a kick in the gut this past weekend when the 4-star prospect missed his flight to Gainesville. That could end up being costly if Williams does not return for the Forfeit State University game. The Gators are in a battle right now and doing all they can to hold on.

4-star EDGE Jamonta Waller

On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 7 EDGE | No. 78 prospect overall | No. 2 senior in Mississippi

GO Commitment Percentage: 60%

Recruiting Intel: There is some major buzz around Auburn right now; in fact, a pick was recently submitted through the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine for the Tigers to flip Waller. The relationships at the Swamp are keeping Waller committed though, especially the one with defensive coordinator Austin Armstrong. We are still keeping tabs on the Mississippi schools, but the latest intel points to an extremely close battle between Florida and Auburn.

4-star DL Kendall Jackson

On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 37 defensive lineman | No. 382 prospect overall | No. 48 senior in Florida

GO Commitment Percentage: 100%

Recruiting Intel: Jackson has attended every UF game this fall and is always decked out in Gators gear as well. He lives in Gainesville, his mother attended Florida, and his uncle is former Gators wide receiver and the late Aubrey Hill. Other programs are still reaching out, but no in-season visits are scheduled. It would be a huge surprise if Jackson went elsewhere.

3-star S Josiah Davis

On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 8 safety | No. 502 prospect overall | No. 60 senior in Georgia

GO Commitment Percentage: 100%

Recruiting Intel: Florida offered the under-the-radar safety in February and quickly shot to the top of his list. He made his decision on March 27 after also considering Kentucky, Louisville, N.C. State and Tennessee. Davis has shut down his recruitment and should be back on campus for the Forfeit State University game.

3-star CB Teddy Foster

On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 71 cornerback | No. 715 prospect overall | No. 94 senior in Florida

GO Commitment Percentage: 100%

Recruiting Intel: Since announcing for the Gators in mid-July, Foster has done nothing but tune out additional programs and recruit for UF. He has been present for multiple games this year too. Barring any major surprises, I don’t see Foster making a change in his recruitment

Gators need to play better and silence the negativity or we will lose some of these recruits.

It’s spot on. He’s a tweener and not big enough to play end or fast enough to play backer

Look you never want to lose a potential top defensive end look this guy is in high school and will put on weight and muscle.

Jwe need all the potential good pass rushing we can get. Losing this guy is not the be all end all of this class but it will hurt. If he ends up being very good at Aubbie

I prefer it at this point. I still find it crazy that he committed to them so early.

Unless Hartline leaves, I agree.

Also, what’s with the screen caps from users at 247sports? Most of that forum is full of idiots.

Unfortunately, due to performance on the field, not just losing, but the way we are losing and negativity surrounding the program right now, this class is beginning to fall apart. IMO, this class is the only reason to have faith in Napier's future at UF.
