I'm expecting him to hit the portal very soon.
This isn't working out for either party it seems.
Not sure what the issue is here.

I guess will know more about it in the future.

Message board rumors are saying that he's partying with frats before games.

He's gone.

Napier set a scoring record as OC at Clemson, his QB at UL left as the schools all time leading passer

I think these accomplishments couldn’t be done with a bad scheme.

I could be wrong but that’s my .02

I like the run offense. Passing offense leaves a lot to be desired.

If he gets a pass game coordinator who can help with playcalling, I think he'll be okay.

I think he's capable of putting together good plans on offense and calling decent games/halves, but I believe that doing it week after week while coaching at this level is too much for him to perform well at it consistently.

At least that's my hypothesis based on 17 games in the Napier era.

I agree with you 100%. I think the offense itself is fine. I think the routes don't compliment each other well enough though. It seems like our first or second option is rarely open and we are checking down all the time.

Definitely.

I wonder how much of that issue is due to poor route design and how much is due to talent at WR on our roster.

I think it's a bit of both.

Trey Smack named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week
by:
Nick de la Torre • about 2 hours

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida Gators sophomore kicker Trey Smack was named the SEC Special Teams Player of the week.

Smack made his first career start Saturday against Charlotte and was the MVP of this game for the Gators. After making his first field goal try last week from 27 yards, Smack attempted five field goals against Charlotte and connected on all of them. His 16 points (five field goals and an extra point) were more than everyone else in the game combined.

Smack made his first kicks from 27 and 23 yards before converting a career-long 54-yarder midway through the second quarter. With Florida stalling in 49ers territory, Smack added two more field goals from 36 and 27 yards in the second half.

Smack also made his PAT, accounting for 16 total points. He proved to be the difference in UF’s 15-point victory.

Smack had a great game considering he doesn't have a special teams coach. This needs to change. Special teams are as important as offense and defense. We still had several blunders in special teams Saturday. This has to improve.
Note to all; A QUALITY CONTROL COORINATOR ISNT A COACH!

not discrediting Mertz, but is he the only one throwing to 5-10 yard hook routes?

Has anyone gone through our schedule and reastically considered the fact we could easily finish 5-7 or 4-8?

Vandy - W

@ S. Carolina - L

UGA - L

Arkansas - W.

@ LSU - L.

@ Mizzou - L.

FSU - L.

And I'm being generous with Arkansas win prediction.

One win in the final 6 games could definitely happen. I highly doubt we could get more than 2 wins out of the final 6 games.

Mertz QBR in the newer one that uses effective passing and doesn't reward short high % junk that much is not high at all for the KY game. He was in the 50s on that 100 scale while QBs like Daniels and Dart were in the 90s.

At this point, I don't think I am going to make any predictions about this team. We are really young and our coaching has made some bad mistakes procedurally and schematically.

We also regressed really bad last year as the season went on.

At the same time, due to our youth, I could see us improving as the season goes on. I think we are more talented than a lot of the teams we will be playing. I also don't think many of our opponents have looked very good.

With the exception of UGA, I am not writing off a single game going forward. And UGA did not look great against Auburn. But I sure as hell am not going to be predicting any wins either.

The only thing we know, is that this team doesn't play poorly on the road, they don't even show up.

I have zero confidence in this team on the road.

The Gators are not losing this game. Book it, bank it, bet the house. It ain't happening.
