Yep and he needed to go if he did pull a gun out to security at some place as they apparently accused him of doing. Luckily the cops weren't called.

Another one of mullens terrible decisions gone

Good luck in the portal I'm glad you left

We need another spot for a better player out of the portal or a better recruit

Dakota Mitchell is medically retiring. Found out he was born with a condition that causes back pains.

eta: he's another mullen recruit.

I'm sorry to hear that a person has to stop doing what they love for a medical condition, but why did it take them so long to figure that out?

I hate to compare him to a Mutt, but between his visor, chubby frame, and intense energy, he kind of reminds me of Kirby a little.

Hopefully he gets our defense near that level next season. I was really glad when I heard Toney was leaving. The secondary was lost half the time when playing zone under him.

I hope too. It feels like forever since we've had a top notch defense. First 2 years of Mullen it was okay. But the last time it was really good was when Geoff Collins was our DC.

I agree

The first 2 years of Mullen we were a very good defense because we had very good Edge Rushers!!!

After they were gone the defense was soft.

Florida needs to get 3 to 5 True Edge Rushers BAD. Princely is Lazy the only reason he had the year he had last year was because of Brenton Cox getting doubled so much. Now they focus on Princly and he is getting man handled by freshmen. Even in the Mcneese game the Pass rush wasn't great.

They are going to have to get a Pass rush and disguise blitz's to be successful on defense.

If they can get to Milton and keep him contained we will have a shot if they can not it will be be a very long night in Gainesville for the home team.

The Mega Melt Board may have very heavy Traffic

Yep Mullen just inherited that defense and then we had that real good transfer. If we had a real good QB playing those first 2 Mullen years we would have been a really good team.

Speaking of Tenn I hope our RBs are ready to block on likely passing downs as they send a blitzing LB up the middle almost all the time it seems in those situations.

Here he smacked the hell out of Princely after he made a sack against McNeese.

LINK

ETA: Kirby was in his early 30s when he became a DC at Bama in 2007.

Zuniga was an animal (of course a MacElwain recruit). The only good thing 3rd and Grantham ever did for this program (besides getting fired) was getting Greenard in the portal.

Zuniga and Greenard single handedly prevented Mullen and his clown show defensive staff from looking like total morons on the defensive side of the ball in 2019 (Trask did that on offense).

Trask was pretty good in year 2, but inexperienced and raw.

If we had 2020 Trask in 2019, man that would've been a damn good team.

Or if we had 2019 Trask in 2018, that team does not lost to Kentucky or Missouri.
