Neely isn't going to give up 6 runs very often, hopefully never again. He had a bad night for sure, if he comes in and pitches well on Friday we get the sweep.
Pitching in general needs to improve and get more consistent but I think we're heading in a good direction.

Our pitchers like to have occasional mental lapses to keep the fans on their toes.

The root cause of our pitching issues is the inability to throw strikes in general, but more specifically working ahead in counts. It’s easy to hit when you know what’s coming.

We’re seeing it again now. Abner comes in with 2 outs and gives up 3 straight walks to give South Carolina a lead in 6th. Then Ficarrotta comes in and walks in two more runs. A two out double followed by 5 straight walks, then a bloop single blows the game open…It’s ridiculous. Pitch to your damn defense.

Tonight was very disappointing, we ain’t getting very far in any tournament setting with this bullpen. I still don’t know why Neely is out for 4 games, total bullshite, but we should have some relievers that can hit the zone relatively consistently. Sully was on that walkie like it it was life giving O2 :D

Yeah walks killed us this game. Their 2nd and 3rd runs were due to walks from Sproat and none were to the heart of the order. I get walking badass hitters because you don't want to throw something over the middle of the plate but we were walking guys who hit worse than anyone on our team. The bullpen was just atrocious.

The only guys who scare you in that lineup are the 2-3-4 hitters and we walked them a total of 1 time, and the rest of the team got 8 free passes. We even walked their 9 hole hitter who is hitting .150

Looking like the pitching problem with not be resolved, I love this team, but Omaha is probably out of reach.

Yes, Matt you are correct, the pitching is a problem.

Walks are killing us for sure. Good observation.

Walks are a real problem, 9 Thursday, 6 Friday, and 9 Saturday. That's a lot of free bases to overcome.

Hopefully we can have a strong bounce back game against a scrappy North Florida team. They won a wild one against the Noles a week or two ago and won't be an easy W.

Got the W, and improved the amount of walks . Had a few too many hits allowed for my liking but I'll happily take the win after last weekend.

After a nice sweep of Mizzou, we took a very satisfying sweep of the Noles last night. Heading to College Station to face the Aggies this weekend, definitely a winnable series. Bullpen has been much better the past week, coming in to save struggling starters. If we can get starters and the bullpen on the same page come postseason play we may be on to something.

This team is so finicky and fragile. Was hoping pitching was starting to find its groove but a couple innings last night shows that hiccups are definitely still in play.

The free passes are absolutely killing us. Truly unbelievable that we have this big of an issue with walks. 2 outs and we we walk 3 straight to tie the game…

Maybe this staff needs to look for pitchers instead of throwers. Who cares how hard you throw if you can’t throw strikes…

And we lose the game on a pitch clock violation…

We’re beginning to struggle at the wrong time. Sully and the gang better figure it out in a hurry or we’re going to crash and burn in a regional.
