Considering our needs Napier has been a joke in the portal so far. That D lineman is the only highly ranked transfer and he will likely be quality rotation depth here. Maybe the boosters think Napier is gone anyway and don't want to spend much.

It's only one game, so I'm not totally out on him, but I was never totally in on him either.
I don't understand all the guys on Twitter/247 who were jumping up and down saying we need to hire him right now.
I think he's a good coach, but I don't know how much better he would be doing, or have done, the first two years here than Napier.
This is his record at Arizona:
2021 Arizona 1–11 (1–8)
2022 Arizona 5–7 (3–6)
2023 Arizona 9–3 (7-2)
He has shown improvement and Arizona was a bigger mess than we were when he took over, so what he's done is commendable. It's just that, as much as I'm ready to move on from Napier, I'm not convinced that it's worth firing Billy Napier RIGHT NOW, and pay that $31m buyout, just to replace him with Jedd Fisch.
If we were talking about Lane, or maybe Urban or Lanning, sure.
But not Jedd Fisch.
To me, Fisch is a guy down the line to hire when Napier gets fired next year if the bigger fish that hopefully a new AD target don't work out.
