Alumni support and funding would be better if the uaa gave a shite about football and hired a coach that excited boosters and fans

I would have never believed UF football could be in this condition for 14 straight years. Heck the only 2 decent years in those 14 the team was really flawed with a bad offense or a terrible defense with a really good QB.

The explanation is actually really simple and the solutions are surprisingly pretty easy they just simply will never happen cause that would involve the UAA administrators giving up their power. And the ppl actually in charge of the university to make that happen simply do not care enough about football to step in like UGA’s finally did in 2016
All these losers who attack the caw for speaking out against foley and the uaa being a Disney gator like I think they get off on the losing I think it makes their identity

Foley shouldn't have an office there. He is why our facilities lagged behind all those years.

Yeah, the NIL Machine here is no joke.

I think it's obvious that Ole Miss has always had plenty of people around the program who wanted to pay players to put it diplomatically. The difference now is that there is a legal way to do it, and since it is legal, there are big time boosters involved to make sure there are some adults in the room to make sure the Good Ole Boys don't get off the rails like they did under Freeze/Bjork.

One thing that is also surprising is how committed the alumni are to the university in general. I was shocked when I got hired here as to just how large and active it is. Coming from UF myself and now having a myriad of clothes from both universities, I hear more "Hotty Toddy" when I travel than "Go Gators," and I do get those regularly to. That's pretty much the same whether I'm traveling around the US or Europe. It's fricking wild.

I think another thing folks don't get about Ole Miss is that it's more than 50% out of state, and a lot of those out of state students are from families with money. We're not talking about "the poors in Mississippi" scrounging a few pennies together to give to Colonel Reb. Just this fall, the number of kids looking at coming to school here from prominent executives, celebrities, and other folks was shocking.

So sour grapes it all you want, but this shift in things with NIL and the portal definitely helps this place out a lot. How much remains to be seen, but it opens the door to a well spring of resources Ole Miss has always wanted to spend anyway. Now they can fully commit to it without running afoul of the NCAA.

I read on another Gator site that Lane's salary next year will increase to $13.2m and will increase annually from there. His average salary over the life of the contract will be approximately $14.8m.

It also said that his assistant coaches pool is increasing by approximately 40% immediately with annual escalators built in that will result in total assistant comp that is 105% more in eight seasons than it is today.

Ole Miss has also apprently budgeted $165m in infrastructure improvements to the stadium & facilities over the next 8 years. Additionally, they have budgeted for an additional 25 support staff positions for Kiffin.

Finally, that one of the major points used by Lane’s agent in negotiation was Billy Napier’s deal at UF, allegedly. The supposed logic was if Billy gets $7.1m per year for 5 wins and Lane wins twice as many games as Sun Belt Billy, then Lane should get twice as much money.

I don't know about that last part, sounds like sour grapes from a frustrated Gator fan (I don't blame him for feeling that way, I think most of us do), but for Lane's agent to specifically use Napier's contract at UF as a bargaining chip seems like a very specific bit of intel that seems like a bit of a stretch to me.

That's fine and all. I like the S&C changes, however it is not as exciting after 2 back to back losing seasons with a Sun Belt level S&C coach that was not liked every stop he was at, including here.

I know plenty coaches bring G5 assistants and coordinators over with them to bigger stops, but it seems like Napier brought too many, and too many of the wrong ones. Now there's such little momentum in the program that even solid hires feel "too little, too late" at this point.

The Go-Go Offense isn't going anywhere in this game.

Honestly not impressed with this Offense so far.

After tonight's game, Napier changed his mind and gives Marion a call back.

Based on the 3rd quarter, Napier may be cooling down on Marion.
