"Laughing stock" is a little harsh, but most people say wait until August 1st. I personally think (and have said) that winning on the field will count more than anything.
It sucks, but we're not 2010 Florida.

Slayer, stop being glass half empty man. Come on. Get out into the light !! There isn't anyone on this board that hates losing more than I do.
It doesn't do any good to think the worse. Don't have to be a sunshine pumper...but damn, we have a new staff and they haven't coaches a single game yet. Recruiting will be ok. And remember Richts best ever recruiting haul came after a 6-7 season....so we have time get recruits and flip them too !!
We are the flagship school in the best state of the country...just check DMV and see how many Gator license plates are sold compared to all the others in state.

sigh. I feel like you guys are just copying and pasting this shite from when Mac was hired.
But OK. I'll be more positive.

Leave me out of that. All I said is that this isn't going to be like McElwain who at least had SOME positive qualities to sell -- Mullen has none. Other than "that one time 10 years ago I had a championship team, come hold the crystal ball".
That being said: For me, Mullen has to win 9 games, period -- which has been harsh, but he's getting everyone back. Almost the entire team returned and he has to get it done on the field.
We will never recruit like Florida if we don't show that we can post results.

I’m right down the middle right now. In December if it’s not better...

Florida Dark Ages.
At least the East is bad and we know that Mullen literally has a 9 year proof of experience (something the last staff did not have) of getting players to play beyond their expectations.
But if we're at 7 wins and the recruiting isn't going as planned, we're boned.

Thadda boy!
Mullen wasn't who I wanted but he has shown enthusiasm and vigor that we haven't had for a while.
Mc did get us some good athletes that will help this year. 10 starters back on offense and seven on defense, which really should be eight cause CJ Henderson played a lot.
Chatfield will be a monster rush end I predict and Zach Carter redshirted last year and he is a player. Maybe Malik Langham will bust out. But we have better defense than folks realize, the offense + young back seven dragged the defense down some. We need to avoid injury bug.
Everyone recruited will be gravy. Let me clean these O&B glasses

Diwun Black (Ole Miss DB commit) is coming for Friday Night Lights. So too are several Florida commitments. Going to be another big list, hopefully we can land some guys.

The good news:
We have yet another huge visitor's list and we should have some commitment or two.
The bad news: If we don't, we may be good and fricked going into the season and hoping for a miracle to go undefeated to get people interested in Florida again.

Based on the hatred and negative posts on tRant, there is a lot of fear of the Gators from other fan bases.
The Beasts of the East are back!
Come on Coach Mullen, take us to the promised land!
Go Gators!

This should give everyone a pretty good insight to where recruits are leaning. UGA, Bama, AU, UF, and USCe all have big recruiting weekends then.

Even better if we have everyone on the expected visitor list show up.
It is going to be a shitshow on some of our UF boards if no one commits.

Guys, you didn’t know I’m sure but Pittman committed to the ducks.
My life is over. Fire Mullen. Fire Gonzalez. Fire urban Meyer. Fire Tebow and his broken hand. Fire my parents. The end.

Elijah Higgins started showing a lot of interest in Florida about a month ago when Pittman was suddenly interested in talking about depth charts and which school wanted him more.
Jacob Copeland indirectly referenced Pittman in this Tweet.
Elijah Higgins, we lead in Crystal Balls and you'll notice how close the times are between Pittman worrying about the depth chart and Higgins getting his Crystal Balls.
I like our chances against Stanford, but I think academics is playing a huge factor in Higgins' decision. Fortunately, we have decent academics (no where near Stanford).

I still think it was a mistake to waste resources on west coast kids when there are plenty of good players on the east coast and south east.
