BIWISI on beating Saban for a recruit that he wants. I have seen this movie before.

Edit: If he keeps visiting UF and his brother does walkon here, I like our chances.

Bama is after his brother as well. Bama mods think they are getting him. Run of them CBing Trey to Bama

1. Umstead is at Gainesville again today right after the visit.

2. Our RB rooms are awash, Alabama has a lot of talent, we have a lot of talent, that won't affect Trey.

3. Most importantly regarding Umstead: He won't ever play at Alabama, maybe even at backup and will be cycled out. We desperately need every able body we can get our hands at LB. Not only will he play at UF, he will get every chance under the sun this year and next year to earn some starting time in certain packages.

Umstead will come to Florida, so too will Trey when Mullen's offense is in action.

They have 7 RBs on their board, we have 2. One of those two is very unlikely to come to Florida.

Do you guys have a solid insider that lets you know who's on the UF board?

Jason Higdon (that's who I follow on Twitter) even has a live chat! There aren't any restrictions on who can join it, he's opening his own Florida Gators website and has been straight money the last few months.

Do you think that's a good policy though for the Gators? To let everyone know where they stand on their big board?

Only if they didn't already have the position shored up. Like I said: Most people in the know are very, very convinced on Trey Sanders. It's just other people who think otherwise. He'll take his visits, but I'm not worried. I also don't think RB is much of a necessity.

Next year:

Perine is a senior.
Davis is a junior.
Lemons is a junior.
Pierce is a sophomore.
Clement is a sophomore.

If there is any position we can whiff on, it's RB -- so I think most of our eggs are in that basket and I think it's obvious with us recruiting Umstead so hard.

Oh, sorry, I was talking about the recruiting board in general.

Edit: We heard some good news on Sanders but that was months ago. That's why I was asking.

The rest of the board outside of RB is extremely murky. I don't think anyone outside of maybe Higdon actually knows who is where -- there have also been reports of guys way off of the radar so we'll just have to play this waiting game until December.

One of the 247 Maryland insiders put in a CB for Nick Cross to UF. I know he's active with some of our recruits on Twitter and I think FSU is trending down, but I think Bama or OSU is the real favorite. Plans to commit before the end of the summer, already had an OV to UF, not sure if he plans to come down for FNL on his own dime.

FSU isn't even in it anymore -- Nick Cross going for a visit and Taggart won't be there.

I personally think Bama is where he ends up, but we might be able to steal him.

Locksley is the king of DMV bag droppers. Wish we could get him back on staff.

Big fricking deal, man. That is a fantastic get. He can play immediately and is just an absolute monster. 6'4'', 270 pounds, good motor. We really needed him for quality depth, but I'm not sure he will start.

Umstead Sanders after visiting Alabama also changed his Twitter profile picture to him in his Florida uniform, and has been retweeting Florida like business as usual. Looking good.

I wish Mullen wasn't such a lazy recruiter!

Umstead retweeted that and since the Bama visit put up a Florida avatar. It's tough talking to some guys who don't regularly visit the Florida board to tell them to stop freaking out and relax. The recruiting will pick up soon.

I hope he can ball early, because the RJ Raymond puff pieces all spring depressed the hell out of me.

Don't celebrate too much, you're going to have a lot to celebrate in a few weeks as well. We're closing on more players soon. (Barring some bad luck.)
