Lulz at you counting transfers to boost your argument. Sad. We're going to see who's better the next 4 years. Chip should have plenty of top athletes by then.
Posted on 1/27/18 at 12:04 am to StrawsDrawnAtRandom
So getting a promotion to a top 15 program in a harder conference while playing multiple in state rivals is shitting your pants? Man you got issues.
Posted on 1/27/18 at 12:19 am to Gatorbait2008
Hey dumbass. USF went 5-21 the 2 years before he showed up. 2-14 in the big East. Oregon went 4-8 the year before he showed up. They're both similar coaches Taggart is just a better recruiter. When will CHIP be announced again? I missed his first PC. 6-32 Vs the top 25. A loss to 6-7 South Alabama in year 8, 3 years in the the top 75 in passing offense. 3. Mullen built his 69 wins against shite teams. Bobby Petrino had Arkansas in the fricking sugar bowl despite the same limitations. Stop making excuses for Mullens terrible record against the SEC. Just like Mac. I wouldn't be calling anyone retarded when you made us along with STRAWS look like complete idiots on the SECR. I've got no problems with Mullen being hired for $3-4M. I do have a problem with $6M & a $12M buyout. Now if you'd stfu and let the results on and off the field happen I wouldn't have to keep responding in circles with you. He's just as unproven at a major program as Taggart is.

TJ on Mullen recruiting two very highly talented wide receiver transfers: LULZ, YUR GONNA USE MULLEN STEALING ONE RECRUIT FROM MICHIGAN AND ANOTHER FROM MIAMI.
TJ on Taggart having done nothing: Let me write you a novel and outright ignore the fact that rebuilding a program like MSU in the hardest conference in the country isn't anywhere near rebuilding WKU and USF.
Classic TJ. Is it more impressive to take MSU to a 9 - 4 season than it is for Oregon to go 7 - 5, or am I totally missing something?

Here's Mullens resume:
quote:
we can look at his record heading into 2018. 69-46(33-39)
2009
Wins:Jackson St, Vandy, MTSU, Kentucky, Ole Miss
2010
Memphis, Georgia, Alcorn St, Houston, Florida, UAB, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Michigan
2011
Memphis, La Tech, UAB, Kentucky, Tenn-Martin, Ole Miss, Wake Forest
2012
Jackson St, Auburn, Troy, S Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, MTSU, Arkansas
2013
Alcorn St, Troy, Bowling Green, Kentucky, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Rice
2014
So Miss, UAB, S Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M, Auburn, Kentucky, Arkansas, Tenn-Martin, Vanderbilt
2015
So Miss, Northwestern State, Auburn, Troy, La Tech, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, NC State
2016
South Carolina, UMASS, Samford, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Miami(OH)
2017
Charleston Southern, la Tech, LSU, byu, UK, TAMU, UMass, ark,
vs Sun Belt:5-1
vs MAC:3-0
vs C USA 10-0
vs AAC 3-1
vs 1AA 9-0
vs P5 1-3
So thats a record of 27-2 in non-conference games against bad teams. That gives him 3.4 wins a year.
Also of note, Miss State has played a power 5 team three times during their non-conference schedule and has lost all of them(BYU, Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech) except to 4-9 BYU.
Kentucky is their permanent game from the east. They are 8-1 against them under Mullen. Also, 2-0 against Vanderbilt, and 1-0 against a bad Missouri two years ago.
Thats a record of 10-1.
So we've accounted for 37 of his 69 wins there.
He is 4-5 career against Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Thats not bad right there.
Lets look at his bowl record before heading to the west. Wins against Miami(OH), North Carolina State(7-6), Rice, Wake Forest(6-7), and Michigan(7-6). Losses against Georgia Tech(10-3), and Northwestern(9-3).
We are up to 45 wins, with the signature wins against a 7-6 Michigan team in a bowl, a 6-7 Georgia team, and a 8-5 Florida team.
vs the West
Alabama 0-9
LSU 2-7(win vs 8-5 LSU, 9-4)
Auburn 3-6(beat 8-5, 7-6 Auburn teams)
Arkansas 5-4(beat 7-6, 8-5 Arkansas teams)
Texas AM 3-3(beat 8-5, 8-5, 7-6 A&M teams)
Ole Miss 5-4(beat 8-5, 9-4 Ole Miss teams)
Only has a winning record against Ole Miss and Arkansas and his biggest win in his career is against a 9-4 Ole Miss teams and Ed O led LSU. The rest are against mediocre teams.

Taggart was 6-1 averaging 50ppg and 500+ yards a game with his starting QB. He rebuilt WKU, USF and Oregon and jumped to a better job each time. How did those teams fair the year after he left them with talented rosters?
2013 WKU 8-4
2017 USF 10-2
2018 OU ?
He left enough talent for Charlie strong to win 10 games and Jeff brohm to win 8.

Do I think mullen will be better than Mac and WM here? Yes. Do I think him or Taggart will ever win the NC? No.

After three years under Jim Harbaugh at Stanford, Taggart took over his alma mater, Western Kentucky, which had gone 2-22 over the previous two years. Do you think Harbaugh himself could’ve had WKU much better than 7-5 in Year 2? In Year 3, they reached the first bowl in school history. He headed home to Tampa to take over USF, whose record had declined in two straight years to 3-9. Under Taggart, the Bulls started slow, then improved by exactly two wins each year. He left after 10 wins in an 11-2 2016.His jump to the Power 5 meant taking over an Oregon that’d fallen to 4-8. Would Chip Kelly himself have been expected to go 10-2 with this team? Especially once starting QB Justin Herbert was lost for five games? Taggart reached 7-5 in Year 1, with a bowl still to go.Now he’s once again taking over a slumper. The Noles collapsed to 6-6 in 2017. But thanks to nearly a decade of information, we have all the evidence we need that he can right this ship. So his overall record isn’t a hindrance at all. In fact, it’s an argument in his favor.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Willie Taggart inherited a Western Kentucky program in the midst of a 26-game losing streak. His rebuilding effort has paid off.
WKU and Taggart announced a new four-year contract on Wednesday that more than doubles the head coach's base salary to $475,000 after he led the Hilltoppers to a 7-5 record, the best mark in the school's three-year history in the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Holtz was 16-21 at USF, including 5-16 in Big East play. This season, the Bulls, picked second in the Big East's preseason poll, went 3-9 (1-6 in the Big East). It was the worst season in USF's 16-year history.
In its last 16 Big East games under Holtz, USF was 2-14.

He’s in the business of scoring points, and for USF, business has been good. The Bulls have been around the top 10 in scoring offense all year, averaging better than 40 points per game. The advanced stat S&P+ also sees a top-10 unit, so it’s not just a matter of the Bulls playing non-power defenses in the American Athletic Conference.
USF’s offensive improvement under Taggart has been fairly remarkable. The Bulls were 106th in scoring offense the year before Taggart arrived, then 122nd and 119th in his first two years. They jumped to 41st in 2015, and now they’re elite.

So?
Ahhhh, the old injury stuff that TJ said was never an excuse because good coaches find ways to win. I feel like you're more insulted when someone talks about Taggart than when someone talks about the Gators, man. Maybe you ought to take the advice of 90% of the board and find somewhere else to discuss the Gators.

Lulz says the guy who said THIS:
You were completely wrong
quote:

''Maybe Chip's agent was talking to UCLA beforehand''.
It's possible, but there were no reports whatsoever that they had been in contact. If this is true, why didn't they fire Mora weeks ago, get the jump?
I'll tell you why: They have no chance. That's why A&M, a superior school to UCLA in every way outside of Academics isn't being talked about but UCLA is.
They waited too long, because Florida is lightyears ahead of any school.
I have no idea about contracts (and am not claiming to), which is why I think I'm a better source than most because -- we will never know what's actually in the contracts, we don't know what the 49ers have with Kelly.
What I can tell you:
The UCLA timeline makes no sense, and hasn't made sense since the very first day.
Bellotti (Chip Kelly's mentor) said Florida was by far a better job -- and if you think he and Kelly aren't talking, you're wrong.
Chip Kelly reportedly talked with Urban Meyer about the Florida job -- and that we went to go meet with him means that things were positive for the most part. I've also heard multiple sources say ''if Chip Kelly comes to Florida, Urban deserves the assist''.
Chip Kelly has publicly spoken about the Florida job -- so we have him talking on camera, and we have our lawyers, president and AD flying to NH.
UCLA has rumors that have been deleted.
Chip Kelly's coming to Florida, unless something outrageous happens.
You were completely wrong

Dude, just because you're getting bodied in this argument doesn't mean you have to run with your tail between your legs over Chip Kelly, man. That's how I know to zip up your bodybag.
Is much more relevant, frickin' loser.

Lulz no. If anyone's been bodied recently its been you.
Let's see:
Taggarts terrible
Mac is a great coach
Chip Kelly to Florida
The results according to the facts:
Taggart rebuilt 3 programs and is a great recruiter
Mac fired for performance
Chip Kelly is the HC at UCLA.
You've been shite on more than 2 girls and a cup

Now back to the point of this thread. Imo we finish with:
Keep: Gouraige
Add:
Copeland
McDowell
NPF
Gouraige
Johnson
Tannor
Chatfield
Beal
Boykin
Jefferson heads to OM-grades
Barnes/Montilus-UNC
Langham-Bama
Peters-UK/FSU
A great finish that should land us in the top 10.

I’ve said this before and I mean no offense to any of you guys. I HATE scrolling through shite to read actual recruiting info. This is getting old. Have this convo on the coaching portion of this board. Most of what is being discussed does not involve recruiting from our HC and the girls school coach.
All of you share good points, but please keep this to CURRENT recruiting of our football team. Thanks Gator fans.

I agree Daddy-O. It gets frustrating when a thread gets hijacked.

If I had known someone would go this hard in the paint for our rivals I wouldn't have talked shite about FSU.
I really hate that we're pretending that ''people'' are hijacking threads. Most of us are talking about FSU's recruiting, and then someone gets really offended and defends them like it's their grandmother.

Hoping we can pull the upset and land Nesta Silvera

They said he removed the ''Committed to Miami'' from his profile as soon as he finished his visit to Florida and apparently had a whale of a time on his visit. I have no idea about the former. I think we've got the capacity to flip him, and I don't think he's as much of a hard commit as Miami fans think he is.

For the love of God and everything holy...please stop all communication with TJ Straws...you are only giving him reasons to throw shite and if you ignore him...he will go away.
That is if you aren't involved in some plot to increase traffic on this board. Just stop already. 2 million posts about Straws vs TJ is not only old...its annoying as hell.
Lets talk recruiting, basketball and such since football is 8 months away. Thanks.
