Burnett is going to transfer out. Some of the "Insiders" said Allen and Burnett were transferring because of Burrow and Blades.
Blades is way, way more likely than Burrow, so we should be alright.

There are actually a lot of moving pieces on recruiting going on that I'm just deciding not to update if only because it's speculation. But no, things are really, really moving under Mullen's staff.

Hopefully Sanders, Pittman, Hunter and Pickering are must gets for me.

Give us speculation. We need a morale boost.

I feel good on all three of them, but for Pickering I'm really not sure. His favorite is MSU, so I feel good in that repect because Mullen knows a lot of the shortcomings of the programs, and he's said that education matters and that Florida is #1.

It looks like Mullen was serious about not pursuing a transfer QB. He must be confident with the QBs we have.

I think they are. Not even reaching out to Burrow is telling.
What I saw in the spring game, I am not confident in our QBs. I will give Mullen and Johnson the benefit of the doubt for now.

I don't think the QB in this offense is going to be very important like in Mullen's other Quarterbacks. We have, legit, 5 different thousand yard backs if they were to carry alone for a season.
Scarlett is probably going to get 1,000.
Davis would have had 1,000 last year barring injury.
Pierce is like Davis but bigger as a freshman.
Lemons is very, very good.
Clement/Toney (as an APB), Perine.
Hopefully this offense is smarter, which it already looks like the playcalling in the Spring Game was better. It'd be nice to have Burrow, but I doubt we pass more than 20 times in any game we play. Jet sweeps, wildcat, this is probably going to be an extremely physical offense.

My fear is that to be a physical offense, the O line has to be more physical than the D line on the other team, and I don't see that so far. As weak as our QB play has been the last few years, I believe that the O line has been as big a problem.

To be more physical, you need to put in work in the weight room. That was not happening under Mac.

Yep. The S&C is different, and I think people took too much away from the Spring Game, which is evident in Mullen's era that the SG counts for almost nothing. The entire offensive line was split up, divided and put on different teams in different positions to see how they would work together.
I have no doubt that it's one of the groups that will surprise Gator fans the most.

Man, I hope so. With the skilled backs and playmakers we have, with a decent QB if our Oline is better, watch out we going to the show!

I meant to make a thread on this a long time ago but I will leave it here.
So about Grier getting busted and the secret nature of it.....
FWIW (and that's not much) here is what I know. Grier got popped for taking Ligandrol. Its a SARM. Basically its what guys do to experiment before they start taking steroids. Their not as effective as roids but way better than supplements. As far as I know only 3 authorities ban them. WADA, NCAA, and the DOD. The DOD didn't start until about 2014 or 2015 from what I remember. These things have been around for 20 years but they are still relatively new in the fitness world.
So why is all that, that I just typed important?
Its well known that the S&C conditioning staff under McElwain sucked. Players have said that the staff was absentee and amateurish. Most of their workouts were on the damn honor system.
This leads to the Grier debacle. He was taking ligandrol under the advice from those outside the program. Many players have stepped forward and said they did their own thing outside the program. I don't think he trusted that the staff would be there for him or that they even knew what they were doing.
So the coaching staff didn't want the public to know about how incompetent their strength and conditioning program was. So they just kept denying what Grier got popped for. They started the cocaine rumor to make Grier the bad guy.
Look back at that press conference and how awkward it was when McElwain was standing next to Grier. It's almost as if he was gonna step in and take the microphone if Grier was gonna announce what he took.
Like I said. Take all this shite FWIW. This is what I have read from some people within the NCAA and UF interns on some other message boards. Some of those boards aren't even UF related.
TL;DR Grier's fault but because of an incompetent strength and conditioning program.

Honestly, they cut cocaine with PEDs so I eouldn't doubt he was on it. I also wouldn't doubt that he was going elsewhere for S&C.
Are we allowed to imagine that Cam Newton never got in trouble, Dan Mullen stayed until he was promoted to HC and we never missed a step from 2010 onward? :(

To be busted for a SARM. They have to specifically test for a SARM.

Van Jefferson will be cleared to play (very likely) immediately. The team just got that much better.

Malik Davis has officially been cleared to play.
