UF sent Skipper and Nuss to see RB Ardarius Lemons from Clearwater. Lemons said UF is recruiting him the hardest and he will visit UF this summer.

Carter will be ours for the taking....he is at Hillsborough High School my alma mater. He has Gators numero uno on his list
Unlike some schools ...UF takes their time evaluating players (in all sports). Maybe some dont understand that we take the high road in recruiting and want to learn everything we can about a recruit first.
Offers are just that...offers and if they meet OUR standards then a committable offer is made. Im proud of UF for doing this. Foley has mandated long ago that student athletes at UF should be screened beforehand. Of course we still have some jackwagons slip through who change when in college. But we have seen a downtick since Urbs left.

Florida QB commit Kadarius Toney played a half against Baker, accounting for 219 total yards, 3 TDs. #alpreps

TJ - gator fans don't want to hear what you are posting right now. Most will just yell at you or ignore you completely.
I guarantee in a year or two, if UF isn't winning titles of some kind, the rest of the fan base will turn on the staff for not recruiting better.
For now I would just sit back and enjoy the process. It could turn out better than you think. The coaches certainly prioritize their own evaluations and have completely ignored the rankings so far and if they are good at what they do it'll show on the field sooner rather than later.

After what I saw from Trask in the spring game I trust their evaluation process.

I don't think it has anything to do with wanting to hear what he says. I was critical of the close last year myself.
This staff isn't built on a bunch of exceptional recruiters. There's a few solid ones, and others are average to below average.
There isn't any point in regurgitating recruiting rankings talk. We will know more in years 2-3 about where the program is heading. Until then, I'll be critical of some things but choose not to make the message board experience brutal for everyone.

I think if we kick butt this year recruiting will change quickly. Saban wasn't always a great recruiter.

CB Elijah Blades will be on campus starting tonight for a 2 day visit.

frick a year or two, we won the east after being picked to finish sixth in the east.
It's hard to shite on those kind of results considering, think I'm just going to make this my signature at some point -- no Oline, no running backs (two freshmen and a junior ain't stacked), one receiver, no quarterback and no kicker.
We already won the East, anyone shitting on this staff is just looking for reasons to be unhappy. They did really well with next to nothing, and I'm sure when Mac gets the athletes and sets up HIS program he'll be just fine.

Amen pass the ammo Straw. I think McElwain is a smart cookie and the aw shucks routine lulls folks to sleep. He has shown that he can blast a player when needed ala Kelvin Taylor's throat slash act....but he has players best interests at heart and isnt an ego type.
I could give three craps about 5 stars and their head cases if we get the right 2-3 & 4 stars and develop them.
The message is clear...no one is above the team and thats not what we had with Urbs. We are gonna surprise folks I think....Del Rio & our sr transfer will be fine and I really think Mark Thompson will change our game.

We may have caught a huge break with Trask when everyone was talking down on the poor kid.
Tough to tell before he even passes a single ball in College, but man he looks like he's got all the right stuff on becoming pretty damn good.
The staff is doing the best with what they have, and so far, Mac has shown that he can be pretty resilient with next to nothing on offense. I'd say that last year, Grier aside, we probably had one of the worst offenses we've ever had in the contemporary era. It was bad.

From the sound of it he should be a gator soon

'17 JUCO DT Javier Edwards is a gator. 6-3 350.

Edwards said he landed an offer from Florida at 1:30 p.m. and just committed, as first-reported by 247Sports.com. "That's my dream school," Edwards said of Florida. Edwards said he chose Florida over offers from UNLV, Tulsa, New Mexico and Texas State. "I feel I'm underrated," Edwards said. "Some schools thought I was too big to play against all of the spread offenses in the Big 12. So I have a big chip on my shoulder." Edwards (6-3, 350) said he plans to visit Florida this month but doesn't have a date set yet.

Alex Leatherwood didn't visit. UF fans upset at him on Twitter after not coming when he posted a pic of him on campus wearing a gator Jersey. He didn't like the reaction. He apparently did visit auburn this weekend

Winning solves all problems and McElwain seems like a winner.
I get to say that because UF won a number of games by the skin of their teeth this year against some bad teams, UK, ECU, VU, FIU, etc...
The vast majority will not complain about the recruiting if UF is winning.
But if UF doesn't win SEC titles in the next 2-3 years, McElwain's recruiting WILL come under fire if it doesn't SEEM to improve. (perception is key here)
In fact, given the recent history of the UF fanbase, he may be under fire as early as the end of THIS YEAR for his recruiting if things don't go well in year 2.
I'm not shitting on the staff. It has been well documented so far that the staff has been only average in the recruiting arena. Doesn't mean they didn't have a good year last year.

I wait and see what Mac and Co can do when the roster is almost entirely their recruits.
