Why bother getting invested in this program when that's all they are gonna do?

What is it exactly that you do? I'm invested, I just call the BS out and hope it changes in my lifetime.

Good Lord some of y'all would've been on suicide watch in a straight jacket in a padded cell if you'd been around for Fat Bradstard's last season and Holtz's first.

Sack up. Damn. Cannot stand a fair weather fan.

Like what IBG said. It’s where my father went to school and I was going to games and watching them on television going back to 1988. It’s in my blood whether I like it or not.

All summer I said I wasnt watching a game. Screw this season. Come Saturday? Without even thinking I’m in garnet and black and racing home from the gym to watch the opening kick off.

Like most of us. I can’t help myself. It’s a mental illness.

Never has a school sucked so much money and emotional well-being from its fans for so little in return. The South Carolina football program has been an absolute joke for the overwhelming majority of its 128 year existence. And yet after a 1-9 or 2-8 record this season, we'll have people who continue to think we're right around the corner.

I can do what I want, including not watch the games. And yes I will continue to bitch, and make it a point to tell people I will not watch the games. I've been a fan since I got into college football at around 10-12 years old. Oddly the first years I remember are the back-to-back Outback Bowl wins. But I too went to USC and so did my dad.

Oh, young buck. Pull up a chair and a drink. Let me tell you about the nineties and how bad those were.

In the 90s we were fresh off being independent.

We have the facilities and geography to compete. Not the leadership. The 90s are irrelevant to today’s ineptitude.

I can’t argue with you on that nor will I try. Tanner could be the worst fricking AD ever.

I’d almost rather go back in time and keep us from winning those baseball titles if that meant no Ray as AD.

After that season we went 5-7 in back to back years
Losing both games to Clemson, and finishing 3-5 and 2-6 in the conference
The following year we went 6-5 also with a loss to Clemson

It’s not like we haven’t been here before
shite after going 5-3 in the SEC in Spurrier’s first year he didn’t have another winning record in the conference until 2010

None of this is new

Be my guest but maybe this particular fandom isn't for you, baw. You'd have never survived if you'd been thru what most of the rest of us have.

I cemented my fandom by going to school here, and graduating. I feel that is important to point out since some people on this site (other fanbases) justify being a fan of their team because they might've stepped foot in one classroom.

I've been a fan since I was born (1985) and I understand completely where you come from. After the Tennessee game in 2014 my dad gave up and he'd been a fan since the 1950's. Gamecock football isn't a healthy hobby for some, so they give it up. No use being miserable for half the week because your alma mater's football team continually gets its shite pushed in.

I've basically been a fan since I was born in 1988 as well... I mean my dad went to school here and was born and raised here just like me. We both still live here. My dad just doesn't really care about sports - we talked about it some when I was growing up but it was always really my interest whereas his was/is music.

Like I said I don't really recall much before the age of 10-12. I remember waking up early to catch us on Jefferson-Pilot Sports. I don't recall any specific game except for Ryan Brewer running all over the Buckeyes, and of course they didn't recruit him.

I will never not be a fan. I could do a better job with voicing my displeasure and just shutting up, because I've had to justify myself before.

I guess that’s the difference though
It doesn’t make me miserable half the week anymore

Same. I'm just miserable during it now and get over it pretty quickly. I just come to this board to bitch a little.
