Pieces are already falling into place.

Bo Pellini is now available as a DC.
Muschamp is available.
Ellis Johnson is available (he might retire though)

aTm fired their DC
auburn fired Ellis

Mangus is being looked at for the HC job at UNLV.

Morris is gone to SMU
the auburn OC just resigned, and word is he's going to clemson.

Kentucky's OC is off to Troy.

With so much movement now, if anything is going to happen in with our coaches, I expect it to happen this week.

Literally nothing will happen, possibly a linebacker coaching change. Care to make a friendly wager, I'll even give you an over under. Like if any coach gets the boot other than Botkin's. Then I'll, you name it and likewise for you, fyi I like money so if you're a gambling man that keeps his word I'm game.

Hell, I'll throw you a parlay. The OBC is so set in his ways and not willing to pull the trigger. Not only will we replace no one except Botkin. But Boom will go to Auburn or ATM. Name your prize.

nah, I don't gamble like that over peoples' jobs or injuries, it's too morbid for me.

Completely understandable, call me negative but I see us just as bad next year. No end in sight as long as Ward is on staff. But god OBC could have pitched us to Boom while he had this chance. Boom can build the D and become Spurriers successor when OBC is ready to hang it up and has found a worthy OC. Boom is a figure head coach and in charge of the D, while allocating the money saved on a D co to paying a OC or something to that matter.

I really don't think Boom was a bad Head Coach, he just made bad OC hires and was in over his head. Sometimes the second time is the charm and we'd have given him time to fix the QB OC issue.

Hell I'd take coach Yaw yaw over that Furtada Ward. Him talking to the media alone is an embarrassment. Did you hear his press conference?

Something needs to happen tomorrow, clean house it can't get any worse on defense. No improvement through the year. Most CEOs that hang on to bad apples get canned. I have a lot of confidence in HBC but it will go down fast if nothing happens.

Lol wishful thinking pal, nothing will happen. He built us up and he'd going to drag us down. I'll bitch but I'll go along with it. Because we owe him for everything.

Something is going to happen ... they're just trying to figure-out how to make it happen in the classiest way possible. Will there be a sharing of titles, IF Boom agrees or tells others he's not interested ... I mean there is a lot of politicking going-on right now. It's like a game of chess.

So lemme ask ... let's say we jump the gun and fire Ward assuming we get Boom, and then Boom ends-up at A&M or Auburn. We've already fired Whammy and we've lot half of our recruiting class in the process.

Talk about a total melt.

Deke needs to be fired. Botkin ... not sure yet but yeah, maybe, probably. He's worried. Whammy doesn't want to fire Deke or Botkin.

It's a mess right now.

bingo. We'll get everything setup offline, and then when everything is setup as good as it's going to be, all the dominos will fall.

Also, 247 is saying Muschamp to auburn is more likely than Muschamp to SC.

There were rumors yesterday that Bo Pelini was interested in the potential job at SC.

I just don't see Pelini and SOS hitting it off at all. The clashing of egos would be unfathomable.

Bo was like Muschamp, he wasn't ready to be a HC, but he had a better record/run than Muschamp did as well. Pelini has that NFL pedigree as well and he got the NU HC job b/c he was a great DC there before and he was an ultra successful DC at several teams.

That '01 and '02 GB Packers defense was AWESOME.

The '03 Nebraska defense allowed less than 20 pts a game on avg.

He won the BCSCG as the DC at LSU in '07 and had great defenses all 3 years at lsu.

He wouldn't be the worst DC we could get, that's for sure.

Problem with Pelini, and I have no doubt he would like the job here, as DC, but his problem is that he set fire to the bridge after we beat them down there a couple two or three years ago ... in Orlando.

He said, even after beaten, that "the better team lost" that day. He was a real little bitch about it. So I seriously doubt he's be met with a favorable reception here.

Back to Boom coming here ... I just returned from a lunch a few minutes ago with someone who may, I repeat "may" have some feeling for how it is going and it didn't sound good for us getting Muschamp. Auburn wants Boom and Travaris Robinson although it appears Lawing may be retained as a holderover down at UF for the next staff as of this morning. Anything could change of course but what I was told is that we were not willing to pay the $1.2 million Auburn is willing to pay for Muschamp, making him the highest paid DC in the country - although any way you look at it, unless he goes to A&M, he's going to end-up continuing to coach against his alma mater for life evidently.

FWIW Kirby Smart, Bama's DC, is currently the highest paid DC in the country at $1.28 million per year.

Been saying it all along, we had a shot 2 weeks ago when it was announced to lock it up. OBC is loosing it and dragging us with him. Out of respect alone we have not choice but to go along.

He will not fire Ward and we will not hire.
Pelini
Shannon
Durkin
Johnson
Yaw Yaw
or any other candidate.

5/6 loss season next year boys but Ward will have some super cool affliction gear from The Buckle. So their's that ya know.

Also no Carolina fan would care if Pelini was on a Hitler death squad previously. As long as he was better than Ward.

As far as fans not liking Bo Pelini because of something he said after that Capital One Bowl, I call bullshite. How many shots did Spurrier take at us? How many times did he run up the score on us? We love him now.

If Pelini could come here and fix this defense, we would love him too. And if we're talking about hiring a DC with a chance to be the next HC, I'd take Pelini over Muschamp. Pelini wasn't great at Nebraska, but he won games consistently. If he would be willing to come learn a thing or two from Spurrier while he fixes our defense I think he would be a solid choice for our next HC.

If we could get Pelini or Boom, I say fire Ward's arse now. If we can't get someone with that kind of track record as DC, I suspect we'll just fire a couple of position coaches. As long as Adams and Botkin are gone soon I can live with whatever Spurrier decides to do about DC.

It's not what Pelini said ... it's how he said it.

Pelini comes across as a whining little bitch. Everyone, everywhere, perceives him that way.

Plus, he's not a great recruiter, his methodology was called into question and is suspect after his seven years at Nebraska ... and oh, did I mention he is a whiny, excuse making little bitch?

We don't want that guy. I doubt we'd even grant him an interview. He is not well respected in the coaching ranks. He's not a stand-up guy.

Here's what I remember off of the top of my head.

He whined when we beat them in the Cap One Bowl.

He whined recently when he lost to Mich State ... what was it, something about MSU's defenders "clapping?"

He whined when A&M beat them in 2010 didn't he? We'll have to ask some A&M fans but I seem to remember him whining about the refs cheating him out of that game.

He whined a couple of years ago when Iowa beat him, whined that the officials cheated him ... whined so much that I think he was fined ten-grand or something like that for violating the league's sportsmanship agreement.

He whined that the refs were against him after he lost to UCLA. That's about the time I started saying his days were numbered ... because he was being talked-about as a pathological serial whiner and you can't be that and coach in major college football.

Pelini will not be considered for the job here.

Muschamp is on vacation in the Caribbean right now and won't be back until next week.people were saying that Spurrier might retire if he doesn't get the DC that he wants. Spurrier came out today and said that he will be back next year and coach two or three more years.the Aggies offered Muschamp 1.5 million dollars as a DC. our offer will match or beat that even financially. Like I said before, we aren't going to let a hundred thousand dollars or so keep us from getting Muschamp. I'm going to go ahead and speculate here and say that I think we have a deal done in principle.

Believe what you want but we don't have a done deal in principle at all. We matched what A&M and Auburn offered. And as of now he is pondering his options. Thats from the mouth of someone who writes $500k checks annually to Ray Tanner. Its all up to what Boom feels is the right fit now.

No insult intended.

And I also ate crow on it in a post all its own. 4/5 weeks ago that same booster told me the only person going was Botkin. Apparently the remainder of the season, that Clemson debacle and Boom's availability sealed the deal. This decision nor its offer was made until post game Saturday.

Again I am eating Crow, OBC still has the fire.
