Who would you like as your benefactor?

They are not as ruthless as the posters on here but you can still throw them a few bills.

You damn right I am! In fact I'm worth Muschamp and Martin's buyout.

ETA: Did someone hack Lonnie's name? He goes from this peaceful passive guy to someone that will kick a lion, gorilla and mongoose's arse and starts talking smack.

I hope you and Lonnie don't ever volunteer at the suicide hotline.

Excellent. But We'd (I'd) rather you stick around.

Email from the president to the alumni association

quote:

Dear Gamecock Alumni,

Yesterday we announced that remote instruction for all students will continue through the remainder of the Spring semester, and that May commencement has been postponed. These difficult decisions were made with guidance from public health experts and are in the best interest of everyone in our campus community. I know that you care deeply about your alma mater and for that reason, I wanted to reach out to you to keep you informed of what we’re thinking about and doing. And please know how much we appreciate your questions, inquiries, and support.

Our graduating seniors and their families, particularly, are on my mind. As you know there’s something special about the last semester on campus and the eager anticipation of commencement, and our new reality – as necessary as it is – is terribly disappointing. We are committed to making commencement happen at a later time, when it is safe for us to gather together.

Driving our actions are four guiding principles. First is that the health, welfare and safety of our people are paramount. Second is to “flatten the curve” – to limit and mitigate the spread of the virus. Third is to do our duty, and that is to deliver academic programs and to do so with excellence and integrity. And fourth is to ensure the long-term stability of our university.

As you can imagine, the Gamecock spirit is alive and well, and it is truly inspiring to see our community coming together, even as we are separated geographically. Our faculty and staff are working tirelessly and creatively to adjust to this new reality. Our students and families are working with us patiently. We are getting through each day the only way we can: by working together and taking care of one another. And during these challenging times, we are mindful of our cherished Carolinian Creed which encourages all of us to “demonstrate concern for others.” We’re going out of our way to do just that.

And all of you, wherever you may be in the world, are part of our collective response to this unprecedented crisis. We feel your support and appreciate it more than you know. I will stay in touch with you as we all look forward to welcoming our community back to campus in the future.

Forever to Thee,

Bob Caslen, President
