Havent read what all you guys got but just filling in what I know what sources who have yet to prove me wrong.
Beamer will be the next coach. Sources say its all but a done deal. BoT was blown away by his two interviews, and that plus a ton of spurrier era guys wrote to the BoT in his favor. They are sold. Would have been done this week but Caslen is convinced he can get a sitting P5 coach (Satterfield) but the interest isnt there. BoT said they wanted a final name Friday. Would expect the announcement as soon as then but most likely next week.
Also Ray will be retiring in February. Have had 3 different sources that work for the school confirm this.
Seems kinda shitty because the BoT are gonna use him as a scapegoat if Beamer doesnt work out. but either way thats happening. He wasnt really allowed to search himself as Caslen and BoT got involved heavily.

I mean Beamer will at least try and he's a local. But the issue is he has frick ALL 0 EXPERIENCE! And no one else wants him, did I mention that?
He gets $1 million, years 1-3. Thats double what he's getting now and NO ONE is offering him more. He's not Lincoln Riley and he's not Brent Venables, he's hopefully a Dabo, nothing more. Therefore the money he's NOT getting will be allocated to hire the best OC and the best DC available. This means we can literally offer Venables ...
$2.5 frickING MILLION frickING DOLLARS more than he currently makes. Or someone else, you get my point.
Up next Jamie Chadwell or some other well qualified high level offensive coordinator. You don't think he'd move 1.5 hours up the road to make double or triple his current salary and have less work to do? You're higher than a birds arse if you think otherwise.

From the little I've read it sounds like it's Caslen's and the BoT's choice and not so much Tanner's.

This. At the end its going to be BoT (All SOLD on Beamer), vs Caslen (High on Napier). I dont think Caslen trumps BoT here. Our BoT has a history of bulldozing and overstepping so its going to be beamer. All the stuff you are hearing now is just covering your basis and leaving no stone unturned.
The more I hear the more I know its going to be beamer. The athletics dept is already coming up with marketing schemes revolving around things being the same as 2010 when beamer was here.
Still on for a Monday Beamer hire.
If anything changes itll be Caslen pulling a serious trump card and bulldozing over everyone. I dont see it happening

Got some guys that know him and his offense is based off of willy korn basically stealing a system from someone and then refusing to hire or give credit to said person. The scheme itself is a system of RPO's and options and I dont think that system can work at all at SC or the SEC in general. I dont think Chadwell is a good candidate I think hes a new coach benefitting off of playing meh teams with a gimmicky system designed to support less talented players. BYU by 90

I was shitting my pants tonight taking Louisann Polytechnical College of Hair Care and Mower Maintenance +3 but it worked out.
