If he was really sick why not just let him rest? We knew they were going to run from him, double and triple him and get the ball out in under 3 seconds. Why bother?

I realize it was hot. I was at the game I'm fully aware of the heat. But members of our O line showed less fatigue. Slab 200lbs of fat on and walk around in that heat.

I'm beginning to think the NFL rumors are true about him. Playing by a diff set of rules. Conditioning when he wants to and feels like it. And having us by the balls because he could just sit.

I mean really did he even need to play? His back up was more than capable of handling the yuppies. And doing what he did. Did nothing but make NFL teams wonder if he's gonna be a waste once he gets a pay check and he def hurt his heisman hype. Although I really don't think he cares about any of it. I hope I'm wrong I really do but its lame.

Do you even understand football? He may have gotten a little carefree in his practices and conditioning, but Fedora neutralized him with quick passes and runs.

UNC had 11 sacks all last season. Last night our defense put up 3 I believe. Clowney had this same stigma last year after the Vandy game.

B/c unc practiced all summer to block and focus on Clowney. If we would have sat him those same RB's, FB's and TE's used to help double him would become eligible receivers.

What unc found out the hard way was that Carolina's defense is MORE than just Clowney, that's why we held them to under 290 yards and 10 pts.

Yes, and he doesn't have an attitude problem, listen to his post game. He could care less about personal stats, he just wants the defense to do well and the team to win...that's his top goal of the season.

I would just hold off on judging Clowney right now, there's a lot of football. He may have 4 sacks next week in Athens and then everyone will say, "He was just sandbagging that 1st game, he's a monster."

You're overreacting.

You sound like the Clemson fans at the bar last night. They talked shite about Clowney all night. UNC's offense revolves around getting the ball out of there quickly so his game last night doesn't mean shite.

I'm going to chalk it up to the stomach virus that was talked about last night. Plus UNC's offense pretty much neutralizes a good pass rush as they get the ball out very quick (they only gave up 11 sacks last season). Plus they had a whole offseason to game plan for Clowney. If he plays badly against UGA this weekend then I may start to get concerned a little.

For CNB

Did you even read my post. Stop being an overly defensive puss I'm not your enemy but I if your looking I can be. I clearly stated we knew he'd be game planned out. So I ask the question why even play him if he felt awful. I guess reading comprehension is something you don't understand. As far as your " do you even understand football" retort. Please dazzle us with your vast knowledge and how you used to be such and suches cousins best friend in high school. Yeah dickhead I understand the game just fine.

CockInYourEar
A very solid point sir. Thank you for actually taking the time to read my post and comprehend unlike a dumb arse above. I hadn't really thought about it but with him sitting that offense may have done real damage with those additional receivers.
I hope I'm wrong and he's flopping and sandbagging. If so hell get my Oscar vote.

I'm aware of the gameplan which is why I asked why use him at all. I'm not talking about his numbers I'm talking about him floundering about half the game. And him very nearly getting hurt in the process with that clip.

And yes I'm aware of what Clemson fans are saying. I just laugh because of how dumb they look when I retort. " let me get this straight. You lot lost at home to our second string offense and your hanging your victory hat on Clowney being lazy this year"?

He should be drawn and quartered after any game in which he does not have at least four sacks imho.

There is no excuse for him being tired, none whatsoever. Heat, physical exertion, running over and over at full speed while trying to bull his way through double-teams ... no damn excuses whatsoever.

I blame getting drunk on him last night as well. Still hungover.

Sure I've got a reason, I came to ask an honest question and discuss it like an adult with peers. Not be talked down to. If he wants to be overly defensive and antagonistic he should roll on over to the UGA board where its enjoyed. Now did I give him a level 10 reaction to a level 5 dick move, sure. But thats just how I do things. I can be your best friend or a guy you avoid its up to you to decide and CNB I don't hold grudges so it can be let go.

Is that what CMB is? I assumed he'd lost a bet and had to use a new avatar or something.
