As telling as this is, I'm not holding my breath.

Crazy shite has happened in the past, and yes it appears as though we have struck gold, but until he signs on the dotted line, I will be skeptical.

Anyone want to outline what a contract for Herman would look like? I say 4.25MM with significant incentives for reaching bowls, winning the division etc.

As for coordinator hires, I have no idea who he'd want to bring in, maybe some staff from UH? Let's get the wild speculation started off with a bang!

I'm just guessing, but:

$3.5M-$4.25M in HC Salary Compensation.
$1-2.5M more in Endorsement and Side Deals
$4M in Asst Coaching Salaries
$750K in Recruiting Budget (if it is indeed tripled.)

$550K National Title
$100K for Bowl Game
$250K for a Playoff Game
$100K for winning the SEC East
$200K for winning the SECCG

All speculation, but here it goes. Herman doesn't have an elite DC in Houston, so he's not bringing that guy.

He is the OC mastermind, so if we are going to spend money, we need to get a DC mastermind.

If Bud Foster nor Shane Beamer get the Va Tech job, and Bud Foster did indeed want that job, we might be able to get a pissed off Bud Foster, which would be a fricking homerun.

If Odom isn't retained at Mizzou, we might get him as well. I'm thinking their new HC, if not Odom, would make a pitch to keep him though.

With Pruitt hating Richt, that name will be tossed around, but I don't know how likely this is. Pruitt might bolt for a small school HC job somewhere.

If Herman was serious, he should reach out to Chizik at unc, that would be a big time move.

I like the DC from NC State as well. Here are some other options.

Really? UNC's D is not even in the top 50. You think this would be for recruiting purposes? I don't exactly have fond memories of the Chiz.

unc's defense was ranked worse that our's last year. Now they are #55 and up until last week they were in the Top 50. He created a massive turnaround for them in 1 year. Also, he knows the inner-workings of the AuburnBagman Way. He's not as good a recruiter as Kirby Smart, but he can get the job done. If fedor and chiz stick around unc another year, they'll be even better defensively.

Good lord UH fans are getting down right hostile on twitter. One of them told me that our BOTs had not even met to address HC salaries/contracts bc it hadn't appeared on the docket. I was like...whoa...stalk much? Damn...watching what's on our public docket? Ever heard of closed doors, fricktard?

Haters gonna hate.

ESPN Radio reporting that the Interim AD said that strong is not going anywhere

Longhorns interim AD Mike Perrin was adamant that Strong isn't going anywhere, saying everyone "can go to the bank with it."

That may take the waiting for Texas off the table. Things are looking pretty good today

Yeah, I've heard the same things about Strong and Texas today.

Appears Texas is no longer a factor in this equation.

It has been a very good day, indeed!

Oh..a UH fan just tweeted the words "You already know" and then posted a pic of a South Carolina T-shirt.

Okay so, I put a lot of stuff in that other thread about last night.

In this thread I'll put the final touch on everything and keep it simple.

If things go as planned - if everything works out as planned and the meeting that is taking place right now, this very minute, with Ray and the BoTs goes as planned ... we might have a new coach named much sooner than originally planned. Perhaps as early as next Monday, the 30th, IF things go as planned.

It'll be a homerun.

Keep your fingers crossed.

Well by your standards, Hugh JackmaN could be our next HC...I don't think you would mind that though....

As long as his last name starts with an H, then the 2nd vowel in the vowel series, then an R, then the letter before N, then the 1st vowel in the series, and ends in the letter after M.

Oh...Kingsbury is the one I wouldn't mind just for eye-candy value. Holy frick.
