McCullough announced about 15 minutes ago. He's a vol.

Interesting how? Thank you for not trying to sway him out of state!
We were just talking shop. He was more football savvy then I expected because let's be honest kids that athletic normally rely on just being a better athlete in the state of SC. Rarely will he play a WR where his technique matters a bunch.

Listened to this podcast. There is a mention of a high profile recruit that we are in on that no one is talking about. Supposed to be a good prospect in the secondary. They stopped short of dropping a name because of the source. Interesting to see if this materializes. It seems Champ always has a few surprises. That is why I don't get too upset when we miss on a recruit unless it is a very high profile guy like XT. Often we end up with a player as good or better than the one we missed on.

I think most of us knew it to be true to start with, but Muschamp's relentlessness on the recruiting trail and full time effort really illuminate just how lackadaisical our previous staff was on recruiting. Can you imagine where we would be now had we had a staff eager to get after recruiting like this one does once we started getting 11 wins a season? Instead, once that core group of stars graduated and moved on, our cupboard was short on talent and pretty much empty.
Anyway, hopefully some more great news later tonight!

This was posted as a recent Cam Smith quote in The State. Sounds like he may be having to answer questions on why he chose UG.
Smith said he has enjoyed the recruiting process but will be glad to make his choice known.
“I know it is going to be kind of hectic,” Smith said. “There will be a lot of people asking me about stuff and why I chose the school I’m going to. I just got to get prepared for it.”

I don't read that at all. Maybe he does choose UGA, maybe he chooses us. Regardless, it'll be hectic for him and he's going to be answering questions about why he chose the school he's going to. The sky isn't always falling.

Nah..everybody gets it wrong sometimes. Literally everybody..just happened with DJ Daniel as we all know.
And Mecose Todd seems like he is going to be one explosive player if we can hold onto him till 2020. Just a little blurb from how he performed last night in his hs fb game (he's from Georgia..didn't look up who they played and this snippet doesn't say):

I mean i never said he wasn't gonna be a gamecock...i just said I didn't feel good about last night. I was wrong for the first time this year, but I'm sure I'll be crucified by one in particular

Also keep in mind we can only sign 22 guys this year and none can be counted back as per new signing rules. Jamel Cook, Belk, and the 5000th kicker Hyman(sp*) are in scholly now so they count on this class.

Who’s left? Jammie Robinson, Sorrells, and?
Posted on 8/18/18 at 8:24 am to UpstateCock2007
We still have 5 spots I think it is...jammie, sorrells, yes, yes and yes as of now
Also Green is still in academic jeopardy so he may open another schollyup...i assume he will die to our past success in getting JUCOs in, and our admissions thinking we are Harvard when it comes to athletics
Honestly I think the staff is holding off for no brainers in Dec or late bloomers

Hey I was worried because I said he was a lock. Glad it turned out the way it did.

Hope we can land Jakai Moore.

Congrats on your pickups over the last week!
Just a clarifier on the counting back rule...spots CAN still be counted back. New rule is basically 100 initial counters over 4 years, and if a kid goes JUCO and then returns to your school, he only counts once.
It's fairly complicated, but expect most sec schools to continue taking close to 25 each cycle. At UGA for example, we have typically been taking 24 or 25 and leaving one spot open for a grad transfer or Demetris Robertson type deal (similar to Belk for you).
Taking small classes to stay under the initial counter limit is a fast track to an unbalanced roster. For examples, see many of Mark Richts Georgia teams, including our 2012 squad that rolled into the season with only 69 scholarship players. Another notable situation to monitor is Clemson, who has undersigned several years in a row and as such will see a MASSIVE decline in overall roster talent, especially on the lower half of the roster, in the next few seasons.

They played Campbell. They're an average team. But a 70 yard run and a KOR is pretty impressive.
