This is the only page where I'll give an actual opinion. the main page is all trolling. I think I was one of the few who appreciated your humor. IBG was able to roll up our fan base on here as easily as anyone with a tiger paw. Sarcasm is difficult to interpret online.

One of my favorite shticks from all this is KSG's "beef" with CNB.

Trolling on here as a poster and not a thread starter is easy. Just look for anyone taking a clear troll thread seriously or anyone with too much emotional attachment to their team. V&S is a melt waiting to happen on a daily basis.

ELCA ... a lifelong Lutheran. My ex-wife was Episcopalian though ... she was British. My wife now, she is a convert from Catholicism and she is the best Lutheran I know. They say converts make the best Lutherans.

I don't attend as much as I used to when my kids were all young. I have more and more issues with organized religion every day and while I remain a staunch believer I also believe God resides within us. Organized religion these days is not what it was when I was a kid being raised in a small Lake Murray church (Saint Mark's) pastored by a German minister Rudolph Ludwig (he was THE man).

Organized religion is corporate, big business, these days and many of the leaders are not trustworthy IMHO.

When we used to have a place in Sun Valley we would attend a Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod (which most western Lutheran Churches are) and, while it was fine for the kids, I wasn't crazy about it ... but they do seem to appeal to youngsters and they focus more on youth groups.

SC has a very strong Lutheran representation because of our deep German and Dutch German roots. We actually did a Reformation tour in Germany a few years ago and hit all the pertinent places ... lol, man oh man the Reformation was a lot more bloody and brutal than most people realize. The Catholics were hard core back then and let's just say Lutherans resorted to an eye for an eye retaliations at times. It's a damn interesting period in history.

We're members of one of the three oldest (non-Charleston) Lutheran congregations in the state. We just insured our stained glass for over $2 million and covered it all in bullet proof glass from the outside to protect it from lawnmower rocks as it is over 200 years old ... it's off the beaten path so we don't really worry too much about vandalism.

I don't attend as much as I probably should ... my wife calls me a heathen. My Son still goes though, and my two youngest daughters all attend church in their towns. My oldest daughter is now living in Cali and has declared herself an atheist sadly.
