the law should allow the option for the victim to be able to shoot em back

I'm not sure if I'm following you, but are you suggesting that when the perp is caught, the victim gets to shoot him? Like a firing squad scenario?

Just read where it wasn't a robbery, but rather a drug deal gone bad. Said Kenny did not want the police called and changed his story three different times as to what happened.

Well shite. Like someone else said, he's the last person I would have imagined being involved in something like this.

Even though it appears he was involved in rather shady behavior, still doesn't change that he is and will always be a Gamecock and he gave us his all while he was here. I hate how it reflects on our University at the same time, though. And the increase in crime in Cola alone plus the coverage of a crime involving one of our own cannot be good for recruiting. I still send prayers and thoughts Kenny's way. I hope he heals quickly and if he has a drug problem, that he seeks the help that he needs.

meh, some website with a source they don't reveal (could be Abo for all we know,) now said drugs were involved. I'm not biting on that.

Kenny was shot by a thug. That thug hasn't gone to the police to say anything or turn himself in, so it' not like Kenny wasn't the victim here.

I tend to believe you are correct. I just don't see Kenny doing something like that. The reports I heard were that he simply did not want EMS called. My feeling is that "people" took it upon themselves to expand on that by also "reporting" that he also didn't want the police called...and of course that then fed into the "drugs were involved" theory that many news sources jumped all over. Kenny tweeted from the hospital this morning thanking the Gamecock Nation for all of their support and saying that he was pretty much good to go. Seems to me that if there been any proof or evidence of his involvement in any illegal activities that he would not have been discharged from the hospital w/o the police taking him into custody for questioning at the very least, which they did not. That doesn't add up to him being involved at all and lends credibility to the initial story that he was the victim of an attempted robbery.

Also, I think we all can handle this level of conversation, so I'll go ahead and write it. Kenny could very well come from a culture of "snitches get stitches," and you don't talk to the police. If you get shot, you handle it yourself.

I don't know Kenny personally, but if anyone on the internet can throw shite out there about drugs, or reasons for him being shot, I like to think I can retort with that response as to why he didn't want the 5-0 to be called.

I do happen to know Kenny personally. This is all a shock to me - he never once struck me as the type to allow something like this to happen through nefarious means.

But I've been wrong about people before. I just hope the reports are all wrong.

Heard he was at the weekly presser today and spoke to the media?

I hung out with Kenny in college. I wish I was surprised, but I'm not really.

That's not to say he isn't a good kid like everyone thinks he is - because he definitely is. I'm just not really surprised... if you catch my drift.

Bluefin... I definitely catch your drift. I had heard the same thing you are drifting at from several friends about not only him, but other players, too. It's a lot more common than most people want to believe. Not only here, but at every major university in the country.

He's embarrassed all of us. Worst of all is what he's done to himself.
