I also don't know if Martin is the type of coach that one and done type players go for.

Yea definitely
Frank seems like the type that would bench this kid because on the first day of practice he catches him reading a mock draft that has him being taken first overall

What is sad is I have thought that several times.

He is a big "teach a lesson to make men" type guy. No one can question whether that actually works because its old school and not quantifiable . Its like they give Frank a pass from losing because he was teaching a lesson they can't actually prove works.

He legitimately said it
I believe it was after the final four? Or before it?
Made some kind of comment about “don’t send your kids to win games and become
Better basketball players, send them here to become better men”
I’ll find it somewhere, but that is one of the worst things I’ve ever heard in my life

I think it was even worse than that. I think he said he was only concerned about building better men, not winning games or making them better players.

I get the sentiment but damn. I want my team to win.

Id say clearly thats the biggest thing he tells parents in their living rooms to recruit. The 3star parents eat that up , but the 5 star kids and their parents are thinking $$$ from the NBA

Yea I agree, not sure it’s worth it. I guess I was thinking if we land the number 1 guy, and it works…does that open the flood gates a little bit on recruiting. Either way I don’t think it’s worth it at this point. I’m tired of watching us lose to really terrible OOC teams, finish .500 in conference, miss the tourney, and turn over half the team each year (not bc they went pro).

Watch. We'll beat 'Bama and AU but a loss to Mizzou and a loss in the first round of the SECT will keep us we'll out of the SEC-T but just enough for people to ask, are we a bubble team?

Absolutely
Did we ever have a chance to hire Bruce Pearl?

I'm still mad about missing out on Gregg Marshall.

Darrin Horn beating drake and then San Diego to go to the sweet 16

You think Marshall is on the radar now?
I sure as hell will sign up for that

I would, but no way. With the way he left WSU and 2022 being what it is, I don't think Tanner would take that kind of PR hit - even if it did mean winning.

I think Marshall will either take some time off or go to a smaller program to rehabilitate his image and then come back up to a power conference.

Yea it sucks bc the team is dangerous and athletic enough to make noise in a tourney but not consistent enough to get there…..we keep Frank if he wins the NIT (fml)

Him calling out Leveque in his presser was pretty shitty. Saying he wasnt injured, the only injury was Frank's eyes from watching Leveque play....

um. How do Frank's eyes not hurt watching his son play so awful. All of our eyes hurt from watching franks teams.

that said, Devin Carter, Bryant, and Reese are fun to watch. I hate for those 3 that this year has been meh.

whats weird is the media acting like SC exceeded expectations...

Exceeding media expectations is still another failed season when you miss the NCAAT again under Frank Martin.
