We hosted him and his US teammates at our home in Mt Dora Florida probably twenty years ago or so, my ex wife and I. Had to be maybe 22 years ago. They were playing practice matches in Orlando and I called Mark and arranged them to get in contact with them and to invite them come for dinner ... which they did. We had neighbors over that lived near us on Lake Dora, made a big party out of it.
I always thought Josh would be the one to replace Mark.
Never imagined Mark would still be around after all these years. I first met Mark when he was hired, two days after he announced, he came and sat with me to eat a sub at this place called Stuffy's on Main Street across from the honeycombs. He met a girl named Maureen Ahern from Long Island that day. She was a friend of mine, much younger, but a real smoke show .... volley ball player. He dated her for awhile, almost caused a dust up at the time. She worked there at Stuffy's which was owned at the time by James Maynard ... better known as the founder of Golden Corral. It was his first restaurant.
It all seems like yesterday.

Umbro is the best kit maker
Reminds me of my childhood.
I feel like all soccer uniforms were umbro in the 90s
Maybe we can bring that back for soccer? They’re still alive
UA is awful in soccer too

Damn I remember that place when I was at Moore back in '92, pretty sure they had ten-cent wings back then.

Isn't Umbro the company that build Stone? I was mostly out of the country back in those days but we used to get USA Today a few days late over there back then. I remember something about Umbro donating money to the construction of Stone, or maybe the family that owned Umbro or made clothes for Umbro. Eugene Stone III ... Stone Manufacturing.

Yeah, so ... funny how my memory works.
So Eugene Stone owned Stone Manufacturing who owned Umbro who built our soccer stadium.
Thought some of the younger fans might be interested in that if I remembered it correctly.
Evidently I did remember that coreectly.
Can't remember what I had for breakfast though.
