Carolina played an exhibition today vs State. Definitely some positives...and some negatives.

Gamecocks lose 88-86 at the buzzer. The good was that we shot 55% from the field and 41% from 3. Eli Ellis had 23 points on 7-10 shooting. 0 Turnovers. Meechie added another 22.

The bad, The gamecocks had a 76-65 lead with 8 min left and proceeded to turn it over constantly. a 17-2 run gave NC State the lead with a minute ish left. Other bad was stute going scoreless with 30 min of play.

Gamecocks still fought it back with :46 left down 81-85 to take an 86-85 lead, but State hit a 3 at the buzzer.

BoxScore

Still it's a will wade team, and we fought well. I feel good about this season.

We will win or die from the 3 point line with this team.

100%, but look at the boxscore. We didn't see a single box score like that last year. 55% from the field, against a pretty good NC State team coached by Will Wade. It certainly is encouraging.

The turnovers are worrisome, but without the turnovers we run State out of the own gym. It got ugly down the stretch

I can appreciate your enthusiasm but it was a exhibition, where you try different things and different players, and it was still a loss. We also play in the SEC, with 7 ranked teams, which has bypassed the acc in basketball. Our nonconfrence games are extremely important for us to win this year.

Don't forget #1 Purdue and #3 Houston just loss their exhibition.

boy you are down in the dumps. Atleast give this team a chance. They are a completely different squad from last year

Set the expectations low and you'll never be disappointed.

The other SEC teams have also gotten stronger. I hope we do well. If we are hitting our 3's we have a chance to upset some teams but if we are off we will get blown out

Yeah the kid is a stud. I worry about our defense, but I think we do have some scorers....and honestly Meechie plays pretty dang good defense

I mean if we suck we are going to be disappointed either way. I choose to ride the Eli Ellis Hype train.

Eli is the better all around player but his younger brother Isacc is a better 3 point shooter. I've followed their game since they were in middle school and have watched both go head to head against some of the top players in the nation. I will say neither one will back down from anyone.
