Quite frankly, it shocked me too. His actions had me thinking (along with a lot of others) that he was looking for any reason to NOT choose South Carolina. But I guess I'll take him. Hopefully - if he ever actually ends up enrolling at USC - that he shows more commitment to the FB program than what he's shown during his recruitment process...

Here's something interesting I picked up from a local HS asst coach (not at Mallard Creek though.) Butch Jones has a bad rap around a contingent of NC HS coaches for rescinding offers/dropping commitments/not following through with 'promises.'/player "traitor" bashing. That could be a significant reason why they aren't recruiting at a level they want to this cycle. Those kind of practices catch up with coaches. Darrell Scott was pretty pissed about the whole situation, but he made that bed when he dropped us for them in the 11th hour.

2017 WR Chad Terrell named us his favorite today and picked up a CB from Tony Morrell. Big WR, 6-3 200 already.

Also 5* rb Zamir white is already making plans to see us again.

Also Terrell got another CB for us from JC Shurburtt as well. Long time til signing day and he's not the highest rated guy on our board but you can't coach 6-3 205.

This guy is still 110% Miami without a shadow of a doubt at this point in time. Hopefully that'll change.

Saw that, and also saw where we were in the final three for CB AJ Terrell. Anybody got any inside info on that one?

Granted anything on CT should be taken with a grain of salt as well. Although I agree in the doubt of getting Terrell

All that I've read is that he's announcing September 23rd. He had previously toured our athletic facilties, but hadn't looked at the housing, classes, student public spaces, etc... before. So when he saw that in late July, we jumped into his Top6. Now he trimmed out bama and some other teams, and we're in the Top3 with clemson and florida. I guess he liked our dorms and facilities and academics. If we can get an OV, we'll have a shot. We don't have a single CB projection though for him, so until I see at least a couple swing our way, I wouldn't hold my breath.

He selected an announcement date after visiting clemson.

247 is reporting that 4* S/OLB Hamsah Nasirildeen may have a decision in August. That's news to me though. We do have help in Concord though. I'll head over to the barber shop this week and see what the word is. He visited bama a few times this year, and he visited us a few times. What's not on his 247 timeline is that he stopped by SC for the Cookout on his way back from florida's camp. Proximity to home could favor us here, but it's not paramount for him.

We were actually VERY strong with him up until bama started pushing in April. Now they lead the projections. He's going to the SEC though, IMO, it's either going to be SC, florida or bama. He wants to play early. We are graduating a lot of Sr's this year at OLB and S, and most of the remaining S's will be Sr's next year. He's going to have the opportunity to play early just b/c of depth at the position. Bama likes him as a S too, but they have a much more crowded depth chart, they already have 2 projected S's committed and they are still pursuing a number of highly rated DB's.
