Edit: After watching his film, this one is a puzzler for me. Towers is a historically terrible program in Decatur. My HS (which is also historically terrible) used to beat them on the regular. Looks decent at playing til the whistle and setting the edge but this looks like a project to me.

He weighed in at our camp at 298....and this video of him running the 100M was posted on May 11. He may have gained 15-20 lbs in the past month....but this kid is ASTONISHINGLY FAST for that amount of weight.

He must have weighed in and ran the 40 for our coaches for them to offer him on the spot. 40 time doesn't matter as much for DL though. On his highlight film, his technique is Meh, and he needs to be coached up. Decent motor though and tracking down the ball. I thought he had good explosion through the line, but not great. He did get double teamed a lot though. I want to see more film on him.

Well the thing is, his hs team is crap from multiple sources including our own atl. Player development thus isn't where it could/should be. However, as muschamp said after signing day, you can't coach a guy to be 6'4" 300lbs.

It's his first step, it's really explosive. He has that 10 yard quickness that you're looking for in a DL prospect. He also does well in the gym with the power clean, and that helps his swim technique to disengage from blockers. He wraps up and tackles low, takes the legs out. i don't think he made a lot of camps, but someone Coach Bentley knows got him tuned into Tryeek. He'll be a good one. I don't think he'll get some ratings jump to a high 4*, he doesn't really do the camp circuit, but he'll be productive when he gets here.

Indeed. We are missing those fast twitch guys a la Clowney, Antonio Allen, Swearinger etc.

I must say that while I am nervous about our defense this season, I am excited to see what Champ puts out there.

The day before visiting USC the pair visited Georgia and also enjoyed a favorable experience.

Muschamp and Co rolled out the red carpet, had the Pres and Tanner there to meet her. That is how big time recruiting is done (minus bags of cash.) wow, really impressed with the Staff's effort here. We're going to turn this ship in the right directions soon.

Apparently Ty'son Williams (Soph. RB UNC) is transferring and has reached out to the real Carolina.

Issue is that his release comes with stipulations that he can't transfer to a team that plays UNC in the next 4 years. We have them on the schedule for 2019 as of right now but they've been known to back out before. He was really high on us during his original recruitment but I'm guessing the headache of dealing with the Tarholes will keep him from coming down to Cola.

3* CB Tavyn Jackson has committed to SC.

That's the thing, his offer list is pretty decent. He has several SEC offers, Pac12 offers and Big10 offers. He earned a commitable offer from us at camp and the coaches liked how he got after it there.
