I still go there just to read more (albeit stupid) info about USC. This board is active but not nearly as much as other teams on the Rant. That site is full of sunshine pumpers who can't take the heat of a place like the rant. People who get lost in their own narrative because they never leave.

Every fan base has their delusional fans, but it does seem like between CT and FGF we have more than our fair share.
That's why I prefer here over those two. The posters here tend to be more open to consider critical post rather than just trying to shout you down for not being 100% behind every aspect of the school and programs. It got really tiresome hearing trust the coaches, they forgot more about football than you'll ever know, and stars don't matter all the time. No logic or reason was allowed if it didn't fit the narrative.
I go to CT to look at the recruiting threads, that's about the extent of my visits to those boards at this point.

The comments here about CT always confuses me. I just write it off as bitterness by posters who used to post there, but got banned or something, so now they post here.
The comments about sunshine pumping particularly confuse me: meltdowns usually do not consist of sunshine-pumping. Perhaps someone here could point me in the direction of threads that had sunshine-pumping meltdowns, but for now that's a totally alien concept to me.
There are tons of negativity at CT. There are tons of posters who are allowed to argue and bicker with USC fans there, and they aren't confined to the trash talk thread. Whereas in this forum right here, there have been attacks on Gamecock posters who posted negative things towards USC, in ways that many similar comments are posted at CT. Here threads have been started openly discussing whether or not to vote to ban them - there, its mostly handled behind the scenes by Admin.: the posters can talk about it, but they don't make the final call, and I've often seen posters temp-banned or their posts deleted with a warning for publicly calling out the other posters.
So in my experience, I would say that this forum is far, far, far more sunshine-pumping towards USC sports than what I see on a daily basis over at CT. The Proving Grounds forum there have regularly been infested over the years by Auburn, UGA, Tennessee, Florida, and Clemson trolls who try to ruin threads. Many of them were successful at hanging around for months if not years before finally getting themselves banned. In this forum, I think they wouldn't last a week with their kind of comments.
But that's labeled sunshine pumping at CT, while labeled more open and considerate posting practices here. So I have to remain confused by it all.....

And for the record, while this fanbase does have a bad propensity to champion a reserve player over a starter to the point of nonsense, I have never ever ever read of anyone anywhere seriously calling for Scarnecchia to be the starting QB. Ever.
Just sounds like a form of bitterness to me. I mean, there were threads started here by posters that still post here who claimed that Dylan Thompson should be starting QB over Connor Shaw. Remember those? It's OK to talk nonsense like that when it involves a rival team because they are rivals and that is what fans have always done. But to talk about your own fanbase that's doing something absolutely no different than what you've done over the years seems bitter somehow...

I have been a member on CO since 2005 and yet to be banned. I came here because I couldn't stand the constant, pumping over there during the 2014 season. I was calling for Elliot then but was constantly being told I knew nothing and that elliot was a god cause Alabama courted him once. That and a recruiting thread about Dylan Moses and I said LSUlock everyone jumped down my throat about it. Saying that we had just as good a shot as anyone that was the final straw.

It's just too cliquey. Some get away with far more especially when breaking the rules.
It's also run by a blue collar inbred snake lover.
Would be a fine place if run by a neutral party, like how we use this.

Are you rnecavs07? Because your memory of "everyone jumping down your throat" for saying LSU lock seems a bit flawed. Pretty much everyone in his player thread doubted very much USC had a chance to get him, and the post that came closest to saying that USC had ANY chance at all - much less as much of a chance as anyone else - came from the same rnecavs07 poster that claimed he was a LSU lock.
And he is committed to Alabama...

So you have an issue with a South Carolina Gamecocks sports message board being run by a South Carolina Gamecock fan, because he loves snakes? Are you talking about the Hoskins? How do you know that they are inbred?
You prefer a USC sports message board run by third-party non-Gamecock fans as opposed to true Gamecock fans? So you would be fine with a USC Gamecock sports forum owned and run by a Clemson fan and alumni? Just trying to understand your above comments.....

In my experience all critical thoughts and posts were to be kept in the vent thread/ not allowed and criticism of coaches and player wasn't allowed

I ask this because it seems like the description of the boards over there is similar to how 247 board is becoming. Some posters are always really far to the negative side and most of the rest dogging/downvoting them into oblivion. Its like a never ending flame war between Gamecock fans with the occasional post of useful info typically coming from the site admin aka "Insiders".

The more populated Gamecock boards - the ones with more activity - are often overrun by rival fans or fans that pretend to be Gamecock fans only to troll the forums and threads. They get banned and then come back using alt. accts...
Yes CT has a smack talk forum that's supposed to allow the type of back-and-forth that one sees often on tRant, but often rival posters don't like to keep their comments to that forum, and are all over the other forums like the recruiting forum, and often post in game threads when USC is losing to their team.
It's a constant struggle for the moderators and admin to deal with. Here, a true Gamecock fan who has been a South Carolina Gamecock fan for years and years over several USC/SEC boards - albeit a bit of a negative Gamecock fan - posts some things negatively about USC in the Rant when our FB/BB teams were struggling gets raked over the coals by other Gamecock fans because supposedly we don't "air our Gamecock negativity for other team fans to see", or something like that.
So we start a thread here about banning the dude.
What is the frick different about that, and what y'all constantly cry and whine about at CockyTalk? How does one do that shite here, while at the same time call CT a sunshine-pumping fan site? I hate the constant bickering, the game thread destroying, the internet-tough guy challenges to others on their "fandom" over at Cocky Talk. I hardly ever bother to engage in game threads over on that site beyond just posting game score updates because of the trash. But that's sunshine-pumping?
The admin there started the practice of "vent threads" because of all the constant threads being started when the FB team was struggling, about firing this coach, or benching that player, and it overtook the Cock Pit forum. But y'all call that sunshine pumping?!?!

I guess my beef is I miss the way it was when it was a small group just having a good time before the stuff you just talked about. That's why I prefer it here.
