COLUMBIA — South Carolina center Chris Silva declared for the NBA Draft on Tuesday, but is not hiring an agent so he can retain his eligibility for next season.

Didn’t PJ hire an agent right away though?

Relax...Silva will be back. It's actually very smart what he's doing given he's a junior and will have to go through draft process next year and will know what to expect and improve upon

Bowen just declared, as well. He is doing so in case the NCAA doesn't clear him.

I think he will get a very good draft grade and probably jump.

Lets be honest, this kid was a highly touted recruit who only cares about going to the NBA.

I don't blame him because I would be the same with his talent.

yeah and most of the homers who were hanging on hope that we wouldn't be even more hot garbage next year than we were this year hinged their entire hopes on Bowen and Felder playing and its more likely that neither of them do.

When he announced he said he wouldn't but then hired one within the week. Maybe next day

I expect the same thing to happen to both these guys.

I'm not sure about Silva.
Bowen I'm about 25% sure he doesn't.

When you start developing the MBB program to have relevant success, this is the type of thing you deal with every year. The thing is, how that works, is you KEEP developing the program so that when it happens, there's returning/incoming talent that fills the voids.

But if you don't maintain the effort, then you have situations where you wish for players to stay within the program forever, and that's not realistic nor is it an indication of a healthy program.....

Relax...as far as Silva goes, I'll say two words Yante Maten.

Very similar skill set and pedigree at this point in their career. Both players don't project well to the NBA. If Maten could come back to school with his accolades after Junior year, Silva should and will too
