I'm going to sticky this thread in hopes that baseball superstition will come through for us.

eta: And win 2 more or lose on Sunday, the basketball one won't be up for too much longer anyway.

We had to get someone with a plate approach in there and Koch has done fine, he had two hits today.

I guess his plate approach wasn't good enough Chad? Jesus. Just mind-boggling decision, especially for Harrington who doesn't have a hit yet this YEAR.

Bases loaded with no outs we only scratch 1 run. Schmidt comes out and can't hit his spots and MSU ties it up with ease, still have a chance to take the lead.

And he hits Rea with a 1-2 count, MSU takes the 2-1 lead. Murray in.

Murray gets a 6-4-3 DP.

Gamecocks respond in the Top of the 2nd, coming through with RISP makes a world of a difference. 5-2 SC

We actually look like we have a clue at the plate, Schrock with a 2 run bomb, 8-2 SC.

MSU's tacked on 2 runs here in the 7th and Murray's day is done. Mincey now coming in.

Great outing regardless, went 5 2/3 only gave up 2 runs. Think it might be time to try him out in the Sunday role and have Schmidt back in the pen.

Mincey comes in and shuts the door, luckily on a lineout to Martin that turned into a double play.

9-4 SC to the 8th.

Dude's played very well this weekend.

I think an argument could be made that we are now, in fact, at least top 6 in the Carolinas.

patience & composure. 2 signature traits that defined the program during the recent Omaha trifecta. same in 2002-04 and largely throughout Tanner's command. neither exist right now under Holbrook.

UF's Friday ace needed 91 pitches to get the first 12 Carolina hitters out. Gamecocks worked counts and made him throw strikes and chased him T5 - bases loaded - no outs. then Gore decides to swing away after having Caldwell walk right before him. 2 pitch AB that results in a double play and in essence kills an inning scoring only 1 run.

Schrock jumped on a first pitch and hit into another double play in the 7th after Cone walked to lead off.

91 pitches got the first 12 outs. 39 pitches got the final 15 outs. 8 of those final 15 outs were on ABs of 3 pitches or less.
