So Chuck Allen, who's our BOT member from the 10th Judicial Circuit, had challengers in the BOT selection process because of an incident in 2013 at the USC vs. Clemson game. Apparently he yelled at the wife and son of a state legislator (Bruce Bannister) to sit the frick down and shut the frick up, as they were cheering for Clemson in a Gamecock skybox. Now the legislature wants him off the BOT.

This is the kind of cuck behavior that will always have us as second fiddle. This guy yelling at Clemson fans to shut up and be quiet in our damn stadium should be applauded. Instead, we could lose a former football player as our BOT member from one of the more anti-USC judicial districts in the state.

No other school that I've seen has a BOT like ours. To think that we are required to have a trustee from every judicial district in the state is insane. To think that all of these trustees are selected by legislators, many of whom are Clemson people who despise our very existence, is even crazier.

Is it because of our UofSC system?
And how we have all those satellite campuses?

It's because of the regionalism inherent in South Carolina culture. At the founding of the college, the Lowcountry hated the Upstate and the Upstate hated the Lowcountry. Now, Charleston looks down on Myrtle Beach and thinks we're trash. People from the Grand Strand think Charleston folks are snot-nosed bastards. And everyone forgets the Pee Dee and Savannah River areas even exist. Our BOT system was created so that one faction or region couldn't control or dominate the university.

If I told half the people in this state I was from the CSRA they wouldn't know where it is. Kind of sad.

The people who vacation in Myrtle Beach are trashy, but the people who live there are generally working class or middle class. There's not as much wealth as there is in Charleston, but the poverty you see in bad areas of Charleston and North Charleston is far worse than anywhere in Myrtle Beach.

Cherry Grove is the best spot on the Grand Strand imo. I hit up Platt's Seafood Market, Basil's Pizza or Boulineau's when I'm up that way.
