Before fall camp, I was projecting Rico and AJ to be the top 2 RB's. Then Muschamp aired out on D WIlliams, and Rico was recovering from surgery, and AJ took the lead/starting position.
Now it appears they have quantifiable data as to what he's doing differently. Today Coach Bentley was praising AJ for bringing energy, toughness and determination to every play and at every practice. He's consistently done that this year.
We use a GPS system to track player movements at practice. We can check routes, speed, distance run, it's a training tool that many Pro and collegiate teams use in almost all sports.
This past Saturday, AJ recorded 56 drill snaps where he ran faster than 12 mph. The next highest RB had 20 drill snaps of 12 mph or higher. AJ's in the lead at RB, b/c apparently he's taking every rep/drill on with more energy. That, and he's a great talent who has elite elusiveness.

I am excited to see him play for sure. He definitely seems to have the intensity of a speedy back.
He should be a really good one cut, downhill guy.
ETA: Rewatched his HS film, amazing vision. He sees and reads blocks very well. Hopefully the OL can help him out in this department and we will see him break off a few big ones.
