Central Florida - W
at Missouri - ?
LSU - L
Vanderbilt - W
*bye*
at Texas AM - L
at Tennessee- ?
Florida - ?
El Cid - W
Clem U - ?

I got Carolina at 4-4 with 4 swing games - 2 home, 2 away.

as horrendous as things were in Athens last weekend, USC's defense actually found a way to put up scoreless second halves prior against both North Carolina and Kentucky. there are serious problems with tackling and effort that exist. having said that, the SEC is actually pretty terrible right now - especially the East sans Georgia.

last word on Athens - it was Orth's "Antonio Heffner at Auburn 2005" game. that game also didn't keep USC & Spurrier from getting its collective shite together and finding a way to win 7 games overall after starting 2-3 (0-3).

the swing games...

at Missouri - should MU continue to play the way it has through its first 3 games, a loss at Kentucky this weekend is imminent. Tigers have actually looked worse than USC for periods of time this season. Gamecocks can steal an ugly win here much like our game vs North Carolina.

at Tennessee - Gamecocks will be coming off a blowout loss in College Station. this is the kind of "ain't no way" game Spurrier has somehow won through the years (UF 2014, MU 2013). UTK's coach could be desperately trying to hang on to that fan base with a 1-4 SEC record. Vols host Georgia, have a bye, and travel to Tuscaloosa & Lexington the 4 weeks before Carolina arrives at Neyland. a UTK loss at the Swamp this weekend starts the process.

Florida - home game in what could be SOS's final game against UF. no matter how aggrevated we all are at Spurrier, we'll fill W-B for this one. Gamecocks put up more yards in a half with Orth vs Kentucky than what Florida did with Grier the entire game. 417(USC) to 245(UF) for the game.

Clem U - Williams-Brice, last home game, nuff said.

Carolina has 3 home games to end the season. it's gonna be pure hell with the LSU and Texas AM games, but if our fan base can hang in until the home stretch we might could will this Gamecock team to 6 wins.

6 wins is not what we want and it damn sure ain't where we should be in year 11, but it might be enough to help our legendary HBC decide to hand over the program to its future. I just don't see him walking away with a sub-500 record in his final season coaching football. he's way too stubborn.

You are actually the second person I have heard compare the Orth/UGA game to Hefner/Auburn in 2005. This season looks a lot like 2005, so we can only hope for the same results at this point.

UCF - W
Mizzou - I think we win, but definitely a toss up.
LSU - L
Vandy - W
aTm - L
Tennessee - L
Florida - W
Citadel - W
Clemson - Toss up.

I truly believe a snowball in hell has a better chance of surviving that us beating LSU and TxA&M, but the rest of our games are winnable if we can get an offense that can work the clock and score some points.

Hope you're right, but with Wayne Gallman rushing for 150 yards, it will be tough.
