I think Berrios is supposed to make his announcment tomorrow and he is reported as a heavy USC lean.

Berrios has been playing everything close to the vest. Miami is the overall favorite to land him, it was his childhood favorite team. I wouldn't be shocked if he came here, but I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't. If I had to put a number on him coming here, I would think 30% would sound about right. Miami at about 50%, and Kent and Oregon split the remainder.

Yes I saw that too and it is intriguing for sure. Perhaps this may be a case where the staff needs a portion of the season to progress - where they gave some players on roster opportunities to prove they deserve keeping their scholarships - and could be already making some hard decisions on what the class size will be for 2014.

Perhaps it's still in the process, and we're simply continuing our recruitment of Berrios until the situation becomes more clear. But it's kind of telling to me that we're focusing more on newcomers at WR such as Whitehurst and Cooper factoring into plays during games, while other more experienced players like Brent and Jeffery are struggling to get on the field.

Those two were already being looked at as possible "now or never" players, although Shamiere is still pretty young (RS Fr.). Also RB Kendrick Salley seems to be having attitude/focus issues that may evolve around issues with playing time or depth chart: with Williams now being red-shirted, and Scott still on the radar and both Davis and Wilds doing so well and are both young, Salley may be allowing himself to be squeezed out of the equation...

Also reading that both Stanley and Sawyer will be visiting this weekend and some reports are that both could be on commitment watch....

This may be Shon Carson's last season as well. He's sort of already mailing it in, verbally, to some people.

Shamiere Jeffery is tough, because he is a legacy player and still very young as you noted. Moving him out before the end of his soph season could be seen as cutthroat.

KJ Brent was a prodigy when he first arrived, but he too seems to have lost some drive or something.

Kendrick Salley ... yeah, he's probably gone. He's going to get a silver parachute though and he'll continue-on in school or be set up to transfer to Georgia Military or one of those schools.

Whitehurst is not on schollie and I am kind of doubting that could happen anytime soon. His parents have means and he's just happy to have a second chance right now. But you're right, him seeing playing time is a tell-tale sign where Jeffery and Brent are probably concerned.

I'm starting to worry just a bit about Drew Owens as well. I hope I'm wrong and things turn around for him - there are some toughness questions beginning to circulate. Hard to tell as a casual observer though.

I think we're going to lose an OLineman early too. It's not difficult to guess who it might be.

And then there is Nick St. Germain. Not sure how that is going right now.

Also, we know we're going to lose Clowney as a junior. The question is what about Quarles and Hampton. Both would benefit from another year but right now it looks like Quarles is definitely leaning that way and Hampton, Hampton wants to go early but it would be a mistake although I'm not sure some would miss him quite honestly.

So there are some of the other possible openings.

4*, #3 ranked OG on 247, Donell Stanley committed to USC today! Shawn Elliot does work on the recruiting trail.

All those and Berrios and DJ Smith are takes as well.

At this point in time, I think we get Green, Scott and either Wideman or Sawyer. Any of the others are welcome additions.

Huh, didn't see that coming. Wonder what the coaches saw in him that gets him the scholarship and Baldwin gets the grey shirt offer, especially considering Baldwin is rated higher (which is arbitrary, granted) and is bigger...

I was wondering what was going on here. I didn't see any real showing of mobility (except within the pocket) in his film. Also he does have quite a few good throws in there, but a lot of them have WAYYY too much air underneath.

Dante Sawyer, the top DE on our board, is coming for an OV this weekend.

Hopefully it will happen, but they've been trying to get him on campus for a while now.

I think we'll land Scott, Green, Sawyer, and maybe one more guy. Could see more if Muschamp gets the pink slip from Florida which could put some of their commits into play.

I'm on the fence on this issue with Muschamp.

If Muschamp loses to FSU and USC, but beats Vandy and Ga Southern, he'll be 6-6. He may lose the bowl game to against whatever team they play and be 6-7.

Zook was fired after going 7-5.

IF they lose to Vandy as well (which I think could happen,) then they lose to USC and Vandy and don't even make a bowl game. I feel 75% confident that he'll be fired. A trigger will be the record and 1 or 2 more players getting into trouble b/w now and January.

It'll probably have to be from pressure above Foley...I can see him being hesitant as Muschamp has built an SEC-top defense during his 3 years at UF, and while the offense has sucked, he can rationalize that Muschamp inherited a grease fire of an offense from UM with a lack of skill players, has had to deal with multiple OCs coming and going before he took over (plus Weis left for a HC job more than fired I believe), and then to top it all off UF has lost their starting QB, RB, several starting OL, plus a number of key defensive personnel. Foley could say that Muschamp wasn't given much of a chance this season...

I do think that UF's offensive scheme needs serious improvement. Even before Driskoll and many others were injured, the offense was mediocre at best. IMO Muschamp felt that the O can play overly conservatively and the defense would be good enough to keep opponent's from scoring more than they do, but when there are injuries that mess that up you need to be able to adjust, and it was like asking a triple option offense to suddenly start slinging passes every where.

Perhaps a new OC, but that's terrible with all the OCs UF has already had in recent years. They also have a terrible OL and have recruited terribly for it in recent years. Muschamp may get one more year to turn things in the right direction, or I'm sure he's gone...

Of course they landed the couple of guys we went after (DJ Humphries and Xaiver Nixon).

I do think that UF's offense was better early in the year before they had to deal with Driskel's and others' injuries. Against Miami if they don't turn the ball over so many times in the red zone they win the game. So I don't think Muschamp gets fired after this season unless they lose to Vandy.

That said I'm not sure who else besides Chris Lammons we could potentially land if Mushcamp were fired.

Saw something the other day from Rivals' Mike Farrell that tied Damian Prince to South Carolina but I didn't catch what it was. Did anyone?

Thought I saw something about a rumor of an visit (not sure if official or unofficial) for either UF or Clemson game. He's such a long shot I didn't pay it much attention though.
