Well, I thought we played good in stretches basically from the 4 minute mark in the first half till the 10 minute mark in the second half we played pretty well. Other than that the Gators dominated us in all phases. Was impressed by us being able to rebound at will however, didn't help Brenton got into foul trouble 2 minutes in & hardly played in the first half.

Also liked the way we rebounded. Thought it showed real fight that the team cut the Gators lead to 8 in the second half but was disappointed that we couldn't finish after that.

Obviously @UF is probably the hardest conference game on the schedule. I think the LSU game at home could be an indicator of how the team will play during the conference schedule

Agreed, especially against the bottom half of the SEC.

Cocks 68
Cats 59

Cats were cold, will be interesting to see the return trip in Memorial.

ESPN did not broadcast this game and it was between 2 teams in the Top 10. What game did they show?

I think it had something to do with going up against the SEC's #2 scoring D, #3 FG % D, #3 3-pt FG % D, and #1 in blocked shots. USC held UK to their lowest point total on the season tonight.

I'm glad to see Sessions return to the active lineup, and hopefully it helps boost the team going forward. Coates set a school freshman record tonight with 17 rebounds: take that, Kelcy Bone!! Welch had a monster night with 16 pts and 14 rebounds. Both Ibiam (6) and Coates (4) combined for 10 blocked shots!!

Just got home a few minutes ago.

Decent crowd - good game. We went cold most of the second half - lid on the basket sort of thing. Let KY back in the game after being up by 22. The girls kept getting after it - Staley has them playing with tenacity. Coates is for real.

They did a lot of stuff for the benefit of the crowd tonight. They're trying hard to get us in the seats. I wish more of our fans would support both basketball teams.

Offense is still shite. Pretty sure a majority of our points came from the free throw line

eta- we're a much better team when Henry and Notice are playing well. Both got in foul trouble and played like shite against LSU in the limited amount of time they got in and it hurt us

I just wish we could get consistent scoring from someone. It seems like we have one guy step up in one game and then disappear in the next. Thornwell, Williams, Johnson and Notice have all had great games throughout the season, but it doesn't ever seem to happen in the same game. When it was OOC games I just chalked it up to rotating people to see who was going to perform when we started conference play, but now that we have it just continues to fluctuate. And our bigs need to step up in the weight room and on the court.

I know this team is young, but we have got to start performing as a team.

I agree with you - I expect some inconsistent performances from the freshmen, and I know Williams has always been sort of a streaky performer. I was hoping that he'd become more consistent this season with it being his last, and with all the improvement I read about from him in the off-season.

My biggest disappointment thus far this season has to be Carrera: he had a huge off-season, especially owning that Heathwood Hall Pro-Am tournament they had. He was supposedly moving from the 4 to the 3 where he is supposedly a better fit for body-type wise. And his hip was also healed up from that chronic issue that hampered him all season long last season.

But he has really digressed quite a bit this season: the only thing that seems to remain from last season has been his out-of-control flailing and fouling in inopportune times. At least his heady scoring and rebounding helped counter that, but those are mostly absent this season thus far...

Still see positives in the youngsters: Thornwell is legit, but tries to do too much at times; Johnson has talent and can score, but also tries to do too much and too often drives into heavy defense under the basket; Henry has talent but is foul prone; and Shaw looks to be a legit perimeter scorer who's defense goes missing at times.

Notice is also impressing me with his talents both offensively and defensively: his biggest bad grade thus far is his inconsistency as he disappears in games, but I have to give the true freshmen a break on those as it should be expected. But I like where these guys can be in the next 1-2 seasons if the coaching staff can coaching them up, and the kids believe in what they are being taught...

The women won a tough, physical battle on the road today versus Auburn 72-66. Auburn has some size as well as athletes on their team, and their constant defensive switching hampered USC's offense in the 1st half especially. USC now has the talent and depth in all areas to make adjustments and come at those type of tough defenses from other angles now that Coach Staley didn't have with past teams.

USC is now 1st in the SEC at 4-0, and 16-1 overall. UF lost today to LSU to fall to 3-1. Texas A&M, who beat UGA today, is the last remaining undefeated SEC team at 3-0 besides USC, and is next on our schedule in 4 days. UGA surprisingly falls to 0-4 in SEC play for the first time that I can remember...

Watched the end of the Women's game today since playoff games were on break, glad we got the W.

Agreed, he's regressed so much. He looked like his freshman self during the Akron/Marshall games at home before SEC play but other than that he's been non-existent. At least he can somewhat rebound unlike our other bigs.

Will be interesting to see how we do on the road against aTm. aTm doesn't have a conference loss yet but was projected to finish near the bottom of the league.

Also think we get them at home as well

Think we'll lose in a close one, really have been impressed with their D. Their O however is lacking, and that'll probably keep us in the game.

Defense has been really good. Offense has been really bad.

I think we've improved on missing some of the layups that we were missing earlier in the season, but we just don't have anyone big enough down low to really control the paint or get offensive rebounds
