They play for a state championship next weekend vs. Hoover I think. They swept Central-PC at their place this weekend, who were a great baseball team as well.

Back in my time with rotary phones and horses and buggies the roles were reversed. Central was the juggernaught. AHS won a baseball state championship when I was a freshman, but we finished second in the area all but one year to Central when I actually played varsity. Great baseball program in their own right.

Coach Cimo is a neighbor down in Auburn. Great guy and has some fantastic minor league stories from his playing days. The interesting thing about Cimo is that he hates travel baseball and how many games that are played. His philosophy is that you get better in practice and in drills.

At the Central Auburn game. I love watching Central lose. My cousin coached a couple 9th graders on the roster(they played his football team last season) and one is already committed to Mississippi St. Both games were great though.

Cimo (and AHS) just locked down their fourth state championship in his tenure. Beat Hoover. I was going to listen this weekend but its already happened apparently.

Ryan Olson struck out the lead off batter w/ the bases loaded and 2 outs in the 9th, clinging to a 1 run lead.

Great stuff. Is this Greg's kid? Got to be...
