I don't know about this weekend, but KMIZ ABC17 carried the Mizzou/CSS broadcast over the air in Mid-Missouri last weekend.

Oh, if we get screwed on this side of the state, we will.

I have to believe this will get fixed before the weekend. Somebody just angling for some $$$$.

I hope you are right. I'll be pretty disappointed if St. Louis fans get screwed. Fans in St. Louis need to be vocal about their displeasure regarding the tv arrangement for the SEC opener. The athletic department (and/or maybe even the SEC offices) needs to know that the demand is there and this arrangement is unacceptable.

Its not about ratings from last week or anything. Matter has an article about it on STLToday. It is the CSS channel. KPLR has called them with no response. CSS has an exclusive deal with Charter for the STL area and that's the issue. They let it go last weekend bc it was a non conf game.

I don't want to overact, but I agree. If this game cannot be seen throughout Mizzou on all regular cable packages then Slive needs to address the issue. A major point of the SEC/ESPN deal was to get all the games on TV. Additionally, one of the main reasons the SEC so strongly courted Mizzou to the SEC was because of the excellent TV markets. Makes no sense to not make such a big game readily available.

Here is an e-mail address (below) that we can write to to complain.
It's a cut and paste from another Mizzou forum...
quote:
The CSS network has an exclusive deal with Charter and, as of now, have not agreed to let KPLR show the game.
If you have Charter, stop reading now.
If you don't have Charter, may I suggest complaining to the SEC? Although the SEC isn't directly responsible for this, it still makes them look somewhat bad. What other SEC team has their conference opener blacked out to a large portion of the largest market in the home state? Maybe Missouri really isn't an SEC team after all...
The only email address I could find on the SEC website is secfeedback@xosdigital.com.
If you write to them, may I suggest these talking points:
-you're unhappy.
-you don't blame them but it makes it look like the SEC doesn't care about the St. Louis market.
-a lot of people locally don't have that provider for reasons you'd rather not waste their time with.
-The closest Big 10 team probably will have their game available on multiple providers in St. Louis.
-Ask them to use their influence to get Missouri's SEC conference opener available to all of St. Louis.
Plus anything else you can think of.

My ability to see games this year is dwarfed by that of last year. I was so excited last year, I honestly don't think I missed a single Missouri game here in HAWAII. This season i've only seen one of the first five that was broadcast on ESPNU.
If you don't think our being completely dismantled last season isn't playing into this, dunno what to tell ya.

Hopefully the SEC network will solve all this crap.

Mizzoufan,
Sounds like you need to get out of that hell hole in Hawaii and move back to Missouri.

You all realize that the game is also streamed on espn3.com, right? I had to watch a couple of A&M/CSS basketball games from espn3.com last season.
Then I moved to CoMo, and CenturyLink (my new ISP) hasn't paid for those streams.
:(
