For us Texas and OU fanbases background, here's how the SEC football title games have fared since its inception in 1992.

29 SECCG have been played, with a total of 58 appearances to account for.

• Alabama and Florida are tied with 13 out of a possible 29 appearances
• Alabama has won the most titles with 9
• LSU won 5 out of 6 times they appeared
• Florida has both most consecutive appearances (5) and wins (4) - 1992-1996 Spurrier years
• Alabama (31%), Florida (24) and LSU (17) combined have won the SEC title 72% of the time
• 10 teams have made an appearance; Vandy, Ole Miss and Kentucky have yet to appear, though UM and UK have titles in '63 and '76 respectively
• Naturally, the Big 6 anchors are the only teams to have won an SEC title

Missouri made it in just their 2nd year of competition.
Arkansas took 4 seasons to get there.

Will be interesting to see if Texas and OU fall in that 'early-riser' category, or face an uphill climb like USC, who waited 19 years for an appearance. We will see if they can add themselves to the top 6 blue chip SEC teams, hopefully starting a year from now.
