They’re expecting a full recovery.

But on a serious note, if athletic departments are so concerned about player safety but also want to reduce fake injuries, why not enforce a five game-minute “injury timeout” for the player to recover? I’m sure we see a lot less fakes. Even though it was a VOLS player this time, it disgusts me when I see players do it.

Forget about trying to time how long a player sits out. Just make a rule that any "injured" player must sit out of the game until there is a change of possession.

This will both weed out the fake injuries as well as give adequate time to really evaluate a player who is really injured.

I like this idea. I feel like the only thing that would be hard to regulate would be cramps. Maybe if the player gets off the field without trainers coming out, the penalty would not need to be enforced at that time... but I guess even with cramps, a player needs to hydrate a little and take a little time to let the muscles settle down.

Hopes and prayers for that young student athlete. Hopes and prayers.

*sigh*

That is a logical and functional idea. Sadly that means there is zero chance that it will be adopted.
