... like we did that whole 2nd half.

With the current state of defense and the coaches willing to let the foot off the gas mod-3rd qtr, we’re going to be in even closer games than this. I don’t even know how we managed to allow only 14 points at half. We should’ve hung 50 points on this team and didn’t because of “sportsmanship” and it almost but us in the arse.

This offense will only produce what the coaches allow it to produce. But because of an unwritten rule of “sportsmanship” and lying down with a big lead, it will bite us against the likes of UK, LSU, UGA, UT and other west team we play this year.

Defense is just “young” so I don’t know how to fix that, but as far as the offense goes, that whole second half is proof of wasting drives except for the Toney TD.

The offense at the end of the third and beginning of the fourth quarter was HOT GARBAGE.

And given that the defense is ALWAYS hot garbage, what should have been a blowout actually became a game.

Jeeeezus.

UF has now given up 15/31 on third down this season.

Why not just commit to handing pierce the ball there at the end? Just bizarre stuff.

I felt like it was worse than that.

I wonder what the 4th down conversion is.

Pretty sure 4th down conversion is 9/10.

Offense: Every team is going to play us up top, no reason to throw it so far downfield, start throwing it shorter.

Defense: Remember, I predicted pretty much every weakness of Colin Hill, so if our staff reads the board I'll make it easy:

Play man press and blitz when there's a QB who has shown he can't throw downfield. If he can throw downfield, still blitz. We should bring 5 every single down from every single direction.

No more soft zone. Our DBs and LBs have shown us they can't do it. Period. End of discussion. They are not a soft zone team.

Grantham either needs to adapt or hit the road, because this is where you can't just talent your way out. I have no idea why he's been coaching like he's a eunuch.

Pretty much. Offense has to understand they need to score on every possession.

Seriously, every down play man to man and apply pressure from different sides. CBs, safeties, outside, inside LB.

Rush five every down, drop six, one up top, let the chips fall where they may.

We may need to start experimenting with more DBs on the field, too. Our LBs are horrendous in coverage. Like just laughably bad.

Of course, if you line someone up 8 yards off of the slot receiver with a QB who loves the slant, not much you can do.

We are small and have very little depth at DT. Our Ends are undersized. Our lb can’t cover in space and our safeties are mediocre. The best unit on the defense looks like corner and they are above average. Combine that with shite scheme and this is what we get.

You’re overreacting about the depth. The depth is fine.

But right now there are a lot of young guys getting exposed for their lack of experience.

The safety play is the biggest concern. That and tacking.

I think dl is actually a pretty big issue. I’ll have to rewatch the game tho.

DT we have three good players when Campbell is back and Dunlap is okay.

The issue is how small we play. Put Cox back there with Miller. Then put Moon and Carter on both ends. More of a traditional 4 2 5 style and we would do a lot better vs the run I'd suspect. Cox is great but he is a pass rusher more than anything.

We can't just get to them with a normal pass rush with consistency. Hopefully we're pulling the ol' McElwain offensive juxtaposition "save the best blitzes for the best teams" card.

I wish Cox came off the edge with a DE in front of him. To often he is one on one with a tackle and just gets over powered. Kid is quick, feel like it limits him a lot.
