How many of the penalties yesterday were Prater's fault?

Gary Danielsen pointed out something yesterday that I hadn't thought of.

He pointed out that Mond was trying to get Prater to snap the ball and the anticipation of the ball being snapped was causing false start penalties.

On one of the delay of game penalties, Mond was visibly yelling at Prater to snap the football.

Ranking A&M centers since we joined the SEC:

1. Patrick Lewis (2012)
2. Eric McCoy (2017-2018)
3. Mike Matthews (2013-2015)
4. Colton Prater (2019)

Lewis: Started at guard as a true freshman in 2009, then moved to center after Kevin Matthews graduated.

McCoy: Started at guard for 2 games and center for 11 as a redshirt freshman in 2016, then moved to center after Mike Matthews graduated.

Matthews: Started at center for 3 years.

Prater: Started 10 games at guard and 2 at tackle as a freshman, played minimally in 2017 and 2018, then for some reason started at center in 2019.
In Johnny Manziel's Heisman season, when asked which teammate he would give his potential Heisman to, he immediately said Patrick Lewis.

The difference in line quality between 2018 and 2019 is as significant as the difference in quality between Eric McCoy and Colton Prater.

Not sure if Prater was having difficulty hearing or just getting prepared to be trucked. Mond seemed to be calling for snap pretty hard. We had about 5 snaps that happened with 0 on the snap clock that must have got off JUST in time. We almost had back to back delays.

We are just an inexplicable mess from tackle to tackle.

Prater is way, way down the list of OL problems

Pretty sure he's the worst of our starting 5 by a pretty big margin.

I'm hopeful that there is more than one new starter on the line next year.
