An amazing stat about Tua...

First, my heart goes out to Tua in light of his injury. I never hope for any kind of injury to any ball player at any time; but, it's very sad how this may bring about the end of his college career at Alabama. Nevertheless, as Tua says, it will work out for good and his attitude about it all is something that is more of a testimony about him than any of his athletic accomplishments.
Speaking of his accomplishments, did you know.....
Depending upon how Jalen Hurts and Joe Burrow finish their careers out, Tua could end up as the only player in college football history with a Passer Efficiency Rating of over 200?? He had already set the record last year with a 199.4 PER!
Here's the list of the current all-time PER leaderboard as it stands right now:
1 - Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma - 209.1 (2019)
2 - Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama - 206.9 (2019)
3 - Joe Burrow, LSU - 202.7 (2019)
4 - Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama - 199.4 (2018)
5 - Kyler Murray, Oklahoma - 199.2 (2018)
6 - Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma - 198.9 (2017)
7 - Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma - 196.4 (2016)
8 - Russell Wilson, Wisconsin - 191.8 (2011)
9 - Justin Fields, Ohio State - 191.8 (2019)
10 - Tyler Huntley, Utah - 190.1 (2019)
11 - Robert Griffin III, Baylor - 189.5 (2011)
With the only exceptions being Jalen Hurts (while @Bama) and Tua, no other QB's on this list have won a national championship. Who'da ever thunk that a traditionally defensive-minded program like Alabama would have two QB's at the top of this list?
Answer: Bama had BOTH an offense and a defense to win titles.

2019 seems to be the year of the QB. Five of the top 10 are from this season.

Obviously the offensive schemes used today have a lot to do with every ratings record coming over the past few seasons. It frustrates me Kirby is too stubborn to take advantage before defenses adjust.
Tua is very accurate and quick in locating targets though.

Amazing that Jalen is actually the one leading this currently. And he was supposed to be a garbage QB. As was Burrow. But amazingly both have turned it around.
Trying not to be too biased but I think Burrow may be more impressive because let's be honest, last year at best he was a 55% completion QB and now he's at 80% which is insane if you think about it. To now be seriously considered up there neck and neck with Tua, is mind-blowing.
Very proud of Joe and very happy for Jalen. Should be an interesting Heisman finale.

Burrow's great. He's head & shoulders above what he was doing last year. I wonder if Ohio State's regretting they lost him??? Even with Fields at their helm??

Honestly, probably not. They do say a lot of great things about him though but Fields might be best for what they like to do on offense.
