Here's what you don't seem to understand, you will get ejected from a game for fighting. Garrett could potentially never play a full game again because now players know that all they have to do is talk trash to him, and he will react in such a way as to get ejected.
How in your world is that okay? If I'm a Browns fan, I'd be pissed that Garrett can't control himself enough to be able to stay in games and help the team. He's a waste of a roster spot. I mean, now the dude's suspended indefinitely. Throw in Damarious Randall getting ejected for ear-holing the Steelers' receiver, and it looks like the Browns are losing control of their defensive players.

To answer the OP, why does anyone get upset about anything that has absolutely nothing to do with them? A lot of people attack other peoples actions to feel better about themselves. It could be that, could also be narcissism. There are several possibilities.
