From a Reddit thread on 100m to 40 yd conversion

quote:

A quick convert or tl;dr of the calculation

100m time Estimated 40-yard dash
9.79 4.2
10.27 4.3
10.64 4.4
10.95 4.5
11.21 4.6
11.45 4.7
11.73 4.8

If I average all the times other than the 11.46 outlier, the avg is 10.78 (if you exclude the late season PR of 10.6 - it's still an average of 10.8)
So looks like that sub 4.5 time is pretty well in line with expectations.

re-watched his tape from last year, he looked really good. Has the vision and balance to go along with an innate ability to avoid the big hit. i really hope he's bulked up enough to be able to handle the physicality of more carries in the SEC. I salute Herrien and all his contributions but we need an extra game breaker in our top 3 rotation.

He's still dead. We'll let you know if that changes.

He might be our fastest back?

Swift: 4.43
Cook: 4.41

Regardless, when you have that kind of speed, 5lbs of added weight feels like 15lbs.

I have seen some slow 40 times posted on Cook as well. He dropped a 4.7 on one camp during his recruitment but maybe he was injured.

I think the truth is, times are laser measures now vs a coach with a stop way guessing.
