From Tuscaloosa, played golf at Auburn. On the PGA Tour, playing well in the Masters this week.

What's his story? Was he always an Auburn fan? Family big Auburn fans? Alabama not recruit him out of high school? I can't think he wasn't recruited by Bama, because I recall his doing well while in high school.

His dad played baseball at Alabama. Not sure what his moms ties are. I only remember hearing his story once at Ol' Colony, but I don't think Seawell recruited him heavily and he established a good relationship with the Auburn HC.

I don't think Seawell was here yet when Patton was college age. He's in his mid 30's. I somewhat knew his mom growing up, and his step-dad was an Auburn fan I'm pretty sure. I don't remember where his mom's allegiance fell. When I say I somewhat knew her, she chaperoned a couple of school events/trips because she was good friends with one of my teachers.

EDIT - Just looked it up and Seawell had just gotten here when Patton would have been in high school. Guess it was just too late to make any inroads, but I also seem to recall through word of mouth that he always wanted to play golf for Auburn.
