I've been hearing about Mathis and Ray for years it seems like. They looked the part during their opportunities.

I hope Dylan or Kaho can step into the role we need at MLB. We had a nice string of Sith Lord rotation at MLB with a SR handing it off to a next year SR for a few years.

What’s the latest on Jennings and Carter? Today is the last day and I haven’t seen anything official. I would love to keep both on the defense.

We'll be replacing Q, Mack, Savion, Thompson, Buggs and maybe Jennings. I'm concerned our struggles in the secondary may only get worse and Q was our entire defensive line this year.

Something about the replacing process of players and coaches feels different this year. Please someone make me feel better.

Its going to happen from time to time, honestly you need these kind of years every once in a while to sort of reset and start a new era. Hopefully this sort of re-kindles the defense like the 2015 year did for that last era of great Saban defenses.

Obviously a big part of that is a lot of young people stepping up, which isn't a guarantee. But I'm excited to see what happens with these guys when they get their shot.

Mathis

He did a really good job every time he got on the field. He ate up double teams and was able to pressure the quarterback up the middle when needed. If a freshman or two comes in ready to contribute we will be fine at NG.

We won the conference and a playoff game. Can't win it all every year.

Having the stronger teams at backend of the schedule gives the younger players time to develop.
