Ben Herbert might legit be the worst s and c coach in America. I think he is a big part of what did Bert in. Michigan has better recruits than Florida and look like a Mac school speed wise

Michigan was a dissapointment. Both of those teams were not very good. If Florida didnt have Perine and Shae against them, they would have lost. Both programs had their downfalls in that one.

I founded the Ben Herbert Sucks bandwagon in 2015 after we got pushed around by Toledo.

Posted this in the UM-Fla game thread when someone brought up how slow Michigan looked in comparison to Florida.

quote:

Michigan's Strength & Conditioning coach, Ben Herbert, may be the worst in the country. The blueprint to beat them right now is simple - with speed, motion, slants and downfield passes.

Herbert was at Arkansas during the Bert era and killed the speed that Petrino had developed and recruited, turning the roster into a bunch of hulking, slow fatbodies who couldn't move or run and were gassed in the second half. There were FCS teams that were flat out running by our DBs and around our Tackles.

After Bert was fired after a mind-numbing number of blown second half leads due to shitty endurance, Harbaugh inexplicably thought it fit to hire Herbert as his S&C coach at Michigan. You saw that transformation come to fruition at Michigan when Ohio State was flat out running around and past them on both sides of the ball back in November.
