Now there's a word from the past thats not in use much anymore.

Hark, the Herald Angels sing, is about all I've got. I'm setting out to change that, I suggest you fellow ranters should too !

Hark ! Is the copier jamming again?

Hark ! I've received a text message.

Fashions and hairstyles often hark back to popular trends from the past.

Thanks for bailing me out.

I used to think Harold was an Angel.

I've also enjoyed using smite for many years. I'm still not exactly sure what a smiting involves, but according to the Bible, it is really bad.

" Harking back to the halcyon days of her youth, she became smitten by Truman's cape ."

Something like that ?

If you smite someone you cause them to assume room temperature.

Harken or harkening are the words you’re looking for in some of your examples.

I was recently accused of beguiling someone.
