How many individual awards do our players bring home in December?

“Locksley continued his rundown of the day’s activities but Saban had stopped listening. The head coach’s eyes scanned slowly left to right then left again, but with a faraway look that said his target was not close by. Something was wrong. Something was just...off. He could feel it.

His eyes narrowed, then closed. He slowed his breathing to the point that a passerby might assume he was dead. The room stilled. Locksley’s words trailed off. Everyone knew this look. They’d seen it before. Saban was hunting. Someone, somewhere was talking about individual awards before December 1st, and if history was any indication Saban would have the perpetrator in hand before supper time.

The group collectively shuddered when they thought of the blood and viscera that would be splayed across the weight room that evening. They would clean it up, just as before, but it never got any easier. They all began muttering silent prayers for the unknown transgressor. That his family would be comforted in their loss. That his death would be swift. They knew that last prayer wouldn’t be answered though. It never was.
